Karachi: easypaisa Digital Bank has crossed a major milestone by processing more than 3.8 billion transactions valued at over PKR 15 trillion during 2025, as it completed the first year of its operations as a licensed digital bank. The achievement was announced at the bank’s Annual Stakeholder Dinner in Karachi, attended by senior government officials, regulators, industry partners, business leaders, media representatives, and members of the easypaisa Board.
The event highlighted easypaisa’s rapid growth and expanding role in Pakistan’s digital financial ecosystem. Since receiving its digital banking licence, the platform has scaled its services to millions of users, strengthening its position as a key driver of financial inclusion, cashless payments, and technology-led banking solutions across the country.
A major highlight of the evening was the launch of easypaisa’s international partnership with Ant International’s WorldFirst platform. Through this collaboration, easypaisa customers will be able to receive cross-border payments and remittances from more than 100 countries in over 100 currencies directly into their accounts. This development significantly broadens easypaisa’s international footprint beyond traditional remittance corridors such as the Gulf Cooperation Council, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The new capability is expected to particularly benefit freelancers, exporters, digital service providers, and overseas Pakistanis by offering faster, more accessible, and diversified cross-border payment options. By connecting Pakistani users to global markets, the partnership supports the country’s growing digital workforce and export-oriented services sector.
Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications Shaza Fatima Khawaja attended the event as Chief Guest and congratulated easypaisa on completing its first year as a digital bank. She reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting a digital economy in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, stating that accelerated digitisation is aligning Pakistan’s economy with modern global standards.
She noted that the strong growth in IT exports reflects the country’s increasing digital maturity and added that the government plans to launch 5G services in Pakistan next year, which is expected to further strengthen the digital and fintech landscape.
The dinner was hosted by easypaisa Chairman Irfan Wahab Khan, Board Director and President Ant International Douglas Feagin, and President and Chief Executive Officer Jahanzeb Khan. Speakers at the event reflected on the platform’s journey over the past year, highlighting its role in expanding access to financial services, enabling digital payments, and introducing innovation across underserved segments of society.
Senior government leaders, including Bilal Azhar Kayani, Minister of State for Finance, and Dr. Musadik Malik, Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, were also present, underscoring official support for a cashless and digitally enabled economy.
With one in every five Pakistanis using the platform, a female user base of 31 percent, and transaction volumes exceeding PKR 15 trillion in 2025, easypaisa continues to strengthen its position as one of Pakistan’s most globally connected digital banks. The bank aims to further expand its services, deepen international linkages, and build a future-ready financial ecosystem that supports inclusive growth and economic connectivity.
