NIBAF Pakistan has successfully conducted a three-day Train the Trainer (ToT) program aimed at strengthening training and facilitation capabilities of professionals from commercial banks and microfinance banks. The program, held from January 7 to January 9, 2026, marked the first-ever ToT initiative specifically designed for agri finance bankers in Pakistan.
The face-to-face training was organized at the NIBAF Pakistan Islamabad Campus and brought together around 24 participants representing various commercial and microfinance banking institutions. The initiative reflects NIBAF’s continued focus on capacity building and professional development within the banking and financial sector, particularly in areas critical to economic inclusion and agricultural financing.
The program was led by experienced trainers, including Mr. Yahya Hameed, Head of Agri Business at Bank Alfalah Limited, and Mr. Sohail Rizvi. The trainers delivered structured sessions focused on effective training delivery, adult learning principles, and practical facilitation techniques tailored to the needs of banking professionals involved in agri finance.
According to NIBAF, the ToT program was designed to equip participants with modern training methodologies that can be applied within their respective institutions. The curriculum emphasized interactive learning, participant engagement, and the practical application of concepts to real-world banking and agricultural finance scenarios. Special attention was given to understanding adult learning behaviors and adapting training approaches to improve knowledge retention and impact.
Participants gained hands-on exposure to facilitation tools and techniques that can enhance in-house training programs across banks. The training also focused on building confidence among participants to independently design and deliver effective training sessions, enabling them to act as internal trainers within their organizations.
Feedback from participants indicated a high level of satisfaction with the program’s content, delivery, and overall learning experience. Attendees highlighted the relevance of the training to their professional roles and acknowledged the value of learning from practitioners with deep industry experience. The positive response reinforced NIBAF Pakistan’s role as a leading training and capacity-building institution for the banking sector.
The launch of a dedicated ToT program for agri finance bankers is particularly significant at a time when agricultural financing is viewed as a key pillar for inclusive economic growth. Strengthening the skills of banking professionals engaged in agri finance is expected to improve the quality of financial services offered to the agricultural sector, including small farmers and rural enterprises.
NIBAF Pakistan stated that the initiative aligns with broader objectives of enhancing human capital within the financial system and supporting the State Bank of Pakistan’s focus on capacity building. By developing a pool of skilled trainers within banks, the program aims to create a multiplier effect, ensuring consistent and high-quality knowledge transfer across institutions.
The successful completion of the program underscores NIBAF Pakistan’s commitment to excellence in professional development and its continued efforts to support the evolving needs of the banking and microfinance sectors through targeted and industry-relevant training initiatives.
