Roshan Digital Accounts Attract $282 Million in July 2026

Roshan Digital Accounts received total inflows of $282 million during July 2026, taking cumulative inflows into the accounts to $13.647 billion, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan. The July inflow was lower than the $306 million recorded in the previous month, representing a month-on-month decline of $24 million. Despite the reduction from June, the latest inflow continued to add to the overall pool of funds received through the Roshan Digital Accounts initiative, which provides overseas Pakistanis with digital banking channels for remittances, investments and other financial activities.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan data, $193 million was either repatriated or utilised locally during July. Of this amount, $25 million was repatriated, while $168 million was utilised within Pakistan. As the total amount repatriated and locally utilised remained below the fresh inflows received during the month, the Net Repatriable Liability of Roshan Digital Accounts increased by $89 million during July. The movement reflects the difference between funds entering the accounts and the amounts subsequently repatriated or used locally.

Cumulative repatriation and local utilisation from Roshan Digital Accounts reached $10.721 billion by the end of July. Out of this total, $2.118 billion had been repatriated, while $8.603 billion had been utilised locally. Following these transactions, the Net Repatriable Liability stood at $2.926 billion, representing 21.44% of total cumulative RDA inflows. The Net Repatriable Liability represents funds that remain within the RDA framework and have not yet been repatriated or otherwise reflected in cumulative local utilisation.

The composition of the Net Repatriable Liability shows that $684 million remained invested in conventional Naya Pakistan Certificates, while $1.316 billion was held in Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificates. Equity investments accounted for another $151 million. Balances maintained in Roshan Digital Accounts stood at $699 million, while other liabilities accounted for $76 million. The figures show that a substantial portion of the funds associated with RDA remained connected with investment products, account balances and other financial liabilities.

During the current financial year, total RDA inflows stood at $282 million, compared with $185 million during the corresponding period of the previous financial year. The latest figures therefore show an increase of $97 million over the comparable period. The growth comes despite the month-on-month decline in July from the $306 million recorded in June and indicates that cumulative inflows during the current financial year have remained higher than the corresponding period a year earlier.

The number of Roshan Digital Accounts also continued to increase during July. A total of 10,589 new accounts were opened during the month, taking the overall number of accounts to 956,790. The continued addition of new accounts indicates further participation in the digital banking initiative by overseas Pakistanis. The account base has now moved closer to the one-million mark as the RDA programme continues to provide access to banking and investment facilities for Pakistanis living abroad.

The highest monthly inflow recorded through Roshan Digital Accounts so far was $321 million in April 2026. July’s inflow of $282 million remained below that peak but represented a significant monthly contribution to cumulative RDA inflows. Meanwhile, the highest monthly reduction in Net Repatriable Liability through repatriation and local utilisation was recorded in July 2022, when the NRL declined by $330 million.

The latest State Bank of Pakistan figures show that Roshan Digital Accounts continue to represent an important channel for attracting foreign currency from overseas Pakistanis. With cumulative inflows reaching $13.647 billion and the total number of accounts approaching one million, the programme continues to generate funds through both conventional and Islamic investment products, local utilisation and account balances.
