The Business Facilitation Centre has supported the launch of more than 4,100 new businesses in Pakistan over the past year, attracting investment of over Rs6.6 billion and contributing to the creation of more than 20,000 jobs. The figures were shared by Federal Minister for the Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh during a review of the centre’s performance, highlighting its role in providing businesses and investors with easier access to government related information, guidance and services through a single platform.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh visited the Business Facilitation Centre in Islamabad on August 24, 2026, where he reviewed its performance during its first year of operations. According to the minister, the results recorded by the centre demonstrate its contribution to business activity, investment and employment opportunities. The centre has been established to make it easier for businesses and investors to obtain the information and support required to begin or expand commercial activities without having to deal separately with multiple government offices.
During the one year period, the Business Facilitation Centre recorded a total footfall of 8,554 individuals. The number reflects the level of interest from people seeking assistance with business related matters and services available through the centre. The facility is designed to bring relevant government services and information together at one location, reducing the need for applicants to make repeated visits to different departments and offices.
The centre received its highest number of applications in December 2025, when 1,288 applications were recorded. This was followed by 1,264 applications in January, while July recorded another significant increase with 859 applications. The application figures indicate continued demand for the services provided through the Business Facilitation Centre, particularly from individuals and businesses seeking guidance while dealing with government procedures.
The federal minister said the centre provides businesses and investors with essential information, guidance and relevant services through a single platform. This arrangement is intended to reduce the time and effort required to complete different business related procedures. Instead of visiting multiple government offices to obtain information or access specific services, applicants can approach the Business Facilitation Centre for assistance and guidance.
The initiative forms part of the government’s broader focus on improving the Ease of Doing Business in Pakistan. Simplifying administrative procedures can help businesses spend less time dealing with procedural requirements and allow investors to obtain clearer information when planning their activities. For local businesses, easier access to government services can support the process of establishing and expanding operations, while foreign investors can benefit from a more centralized source of information when assessing business opportunities in the country.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh reiterated that improving the business environment remains a priority for the government.
