Pak EXIM Bank Partners With AutoSoft Dynamics For Shariah-Compliant Core Banking Transformation

Export-Import Bank of Pakistan (Pak EXIM) has onboarded AutoSoft Dynamics to implement a modern next-generation Core Banking System, marking a significant step in the bank’s efforts to strengthen its technology infrastructure and respond to evolving operational, regulatory and business requirements. The engagement is aimed at establishing a modern banking technology foundation that can support Pak EXIM’s role in Pakistan’s export finance ecosystem while providing the institution with scalable and Shariah-compliant capabilities. The initiative comes as financial institutions across Pakistan continue to upgrade their technology platforms to improve operational efficiency, governance and service delivery.

Under the agreement, AutoSoft Dynamics will provide Pak EXIM with a robust and scalable Core Banking System designed around the bank’s requirements and its mission of supporting Pakistan’s trade, export development and broader economic growth. The technology platform is expected to provide the foundation needed for the bank to manage its evolving operational needs while maintaining a Shariah-compliant banking environment. The implementation represents an important technology investment for an institution that serves a specialised role in facilitating export finance and supporting businesses engaged in international trade.

The collaboration also reflects the increasing importance of locally developed banking technology as Pakistan’s financial sector moves toward greater digital modernisation. With financial institutions facing changing regulatory requirements, expanding digital expectations and growing demands for stronger operational systems, modern Core Banking Systems have become an important part of institutional technology infrastructure. For Pak EXIM, the engagement with AutoSoft Dynamics is intended to support its long-term operational requirements while strengthening the technological capabilities required to serve exporters and other stakeholders. The partnership further demonstrates the role of domestic technology providers in delivering enterprise-level banking solutions for institutions of national importance.

Shahbaz Hussain Syed, President and CEO of Pak EXIM, said the bank remains focused on developing the institutional capabilities needed to support Pakistan’s export growth agenda. He described the implementation of a modern Shariah-compliant Core Banking System as an important part of that vision, noting that the technology investment is intended to enhance operational resilience, improve service capabilities and strengthen governance. According to Syed, the new platform will also help position Pak EXIM to respond to the changing requirements of exporters and stakeholders as Pakistan’s economy becomes increasingly digital.

The partnership is particularly relevant to Pak EXIM’s role as Pakistan’s official Export Credit Agency. Established and owned by the Government of Pakistan, Pak EXIM supports the country’s exporters through financial products, guarantees, risk mitigation instruments and trade facilitation initiatives. Its role places significant importance on having reliable banking infrastructure capable of supporting specialised financial operations. The new Core Banking System is therefore being positioned as part of the institution’s broader effort to build technology capabilities that can support its operational and business objectives.

Bilal Mahmood, Chief Executive Officer of AutoSoft Dynamics, described Pak EXIM’s selection of the company as a defining milestone for Pakistan’s banking technology landscape. He highlighted AutoSoft’s nearly 60 years of local and regional banking expertise, alongside the global best practices of its parent operating group Andromeda, a subsidiary of Constellation Software Inc. According to Mahmood, the partnership reflects growing confidence in indigenously developed enterprise banking systems that are capable of supporting institutions with national importance.

AutoSoft Dynamics is one of Pakistan’s leading banking technology providers, offering solutions covering Core Banking, Digital Banking, Treasury, Trade, Islamic Banking, Compliance, Financial Inclusion and Enterprise Software. The company provides technology solutions to banks and financial institutions across the region. In 2022, AutoSoft became part of the Constellation Software Inc. group of companies, strengthening its connection with a broader international software ecosystem. Constellation Software is among the world’s largest software companies by revenue and was ranked among the top five most trusted software companies globally by Newsweek in December 2024.

For Pak EXIM, the implementation of the next-generation Core Banking System represents a technology-focused step toward strengthening the infrastructure supporting its export finance operations. The bank’s collaboration with AutoSoft Dynamics combines a national financial institution’s export development mandate with the capabilities of a domestic banking technology provider. As Pakistan continues to place greater emphasis on export growth, financial sector modernisation and technology-led banking services, the implementation is expected to form part of Pak EXIM’s efforts to build stronger operational and technological capabilities for the future.
