NIBAF Pakistan to Hold Communication Skills Workshop in Karachi on October 20

The National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) Pakistan has announced a one-day executive workshop titled “Communication Essentials: Mastering the Modern Workplace” at its Karachi campus on October 20, 2026. The programme is designed to address communication skills required in professional environments, with a focus on improving workplace interactions, presentations, time management and customer service. According to the institute’s announcement, the training session will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, offering participants a full day of structured learning and practical exercises. The training investment is set at Rs25,000 per participant, excluding applicable taxes, while the deadline for nominations and registrations is October 19, 2026.

The workshop is intended for professionals seeking to strengthen their communication capabilities and improve their effectiveness in modern workplaces. Business communication plays an important role in coordinating teams, presenting information, managing professional relationships and addressing customer requirements. Employees who communicate clearly can help reduce misunderstandings, support collaboration and contribute to more efficient workplace operations. Through this programme, NIBAF Pakistan aims to provide participants with an opportunity to develop practical skills that can be applied to their professional responsibilities. The workshop’s emphasis on interactive learning is intended to help participants practise communication techniques rather than rely exclusively on theoretical instruction.

Farhan Uddin Raja, a corporate trainer, behavioural skills facilitator and founder of HOTAC, will facilitate the session. He brings more than 14 years of training delivery experience across over 25 major organisations, according to the programme details shared by NIBAF Pakistan. His professional experience includes training engagements involving NIBAF, National Bank of Pakistan, Bank AL Habib and Standard Chartered Bank. His areas of specialisation include business communication, presentation skills, time management and customer service excellence. Raja also has an academic background in English linguistics, which supports his work in communication-focused training and professional development.

The programme is expected to incorporate role-playing activities, simulations and interactive team exercises to help participants practise workplace situations. These methods can allow trainees to explore different communication approaches, receive feedback and improve how they respond to professional challenges. Role-playing can be particularly useful for practising conversations with colleagues and customers, while simulations provide opportunities to apply communication techniques in situations that resemble actual workplace responsibilities. Team-based exercises can also encourage listening, cooperation and the exchange of ideas. The practical approach outlined in the workshop description is intended to support behavioural development and help participants apply the lessons to their daily work.

Presentation skills are another key area covered by the facilitator’s professional specialisations. Presenting information effectively requires more than subject knowledge, as professionals must also organise their messages, explain ideas clearly and adapt their delivery to different audiences. Similarly, time management can help employees prioritise tasks, coordinate responsibilities and communicate deadlines more effectively. Customer service excellence requires professionals to understand customer concerns, provide clear information and maintain appropriate communication throughout the interaction. By bringing these areas together under a workplace communication programme, the workshop addresses several skills that can influence individual performance and professional relationships.

NIBAF Pakistan has set October 19, 2026, as the last date for nominations and registrations, one day before the scheduled workshop. Interested participants can contact the institute through registration@nibaf.gov.pk or marketing@nibaf.org.pk for registration-related information. The institute has also provided the telephone numbers 021-35277511 and 051-9269850, along with WhatsApp contact number 0303-0652963. The workshop will take place at NIBAF Pakistan’s Karachi campus, and participants should confirm registration requirements and applicable taxes with the institute before making payment.

The announcement reflects the continued role of professional training institutions in supporting skills development across Pakistan’s banking and corporate sectors. As workplaces require employees to coordinate across teams, interact with customers and communicate information efficiently, communication training remains relevant to both new and experienced professionals. NIBAF Pakistan’s scheduled workshop offers a structured opportunity for participants to work on these capabilities through guided instruction and practical activities. With nominations closing on October 19 and the session scheduled for October 20, interested professionals have a limited period to contact the institute and complete the registration process.
