Rashid Mahmood Langrial has officially assumed the role of Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). He replaced Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana, who retired from the position earlier than expected.
Langrial, a seasoned bureaucrat with extensive experience in the Pakistan Administrative Service, previously served as Secretary of the Power Division. His appointment to FBR comes at a crucial time for Pakistan’s revenue collection efforts.
Langrial has pledged his full support to FBR team in achieving their assigned targets. He has also been given the additional responsibility of Secretary, Revenue Division, for a temporary period of three months.
The government’s decision to appoint Langrial as FBR Chairman reflects its efforts to ensure continuity in revenue collection efforts and address the challenges facing the tax administration.
