Task Force Established to Digitize Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue

The government has formed a task force to spearhead the digitization of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). The task force, chaired by the Minister of State for Finance and co-chaired by the Director General of C41, aims to modernize FBR’s systems and enhance revenue collection.

The task force includes representatives from various government agencies, private sector organizations, and technology experts. They will work together to identify and implement practical solutions for FBR’s digitization.

The government believes that digitizing FBR is crucial for promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth. By modernizing its systems and processes, FBR can improve its efficiency, broaden the tax base, and increase revenue generation.

The task force will focus on areas such as data sharing, supply chain automation, and the restructuring of the Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited (PRAL). They will also explore ways to integrate FBR’s systems with other government agencies and trading partners.

The ultimate goal of the task force is to formulate recommendations that will enable FBR to play a more effective role in supporting Pakistan’s economic development.
