The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has revealed the recipients of its prestigious Top 25 Companies Awards for the year 2023, celebrating excellence in the corporate and industrial sectors of Pakistan. Established in 1978, these awards are regarded as a benchmark for outstanding performance, governance, and sustainability in the country’s business landscape.
The selection process for the PSX Top 25 Companies Awards is stringent, with firms required to meet specific prerequisites to qualify. These include a minimum dividend distribution of 30% and the trading of company shares on at least 75% of total trading days in a year. Once these prerequisites are met, companies are evaluated on both quantitative and qualitative criteria.
Quantitative factors focus on financial metrics such as profitability ratios, dividend-related ratios, and share turnover. On the qualitative side, the awards recognize companies excelling in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), reporting on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, and fostering diversity and inclusion within their operations.
