Jazz and Mercantile Launch Pakistan’s First iPhone Trade-In Program with Exclusive Perks

Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital services provider, in collaboration with Mercantile, Apple’s authorized distributor in the country, has launched Pakistan’s first-ever iPhone Trade-In Program. The initiative makes the new iPhone 16 series more accessible to local consumers by allowing users to exchange their old PTA-approved iPhone 11 or newer models for a discounted price on the latest Apple devices. This trade-in program marks a significant step towards increasing digital accessibility and smartphone penetration in the country.

To further improve affordability, the program includes an additional subsidy bonus on top of the trade-in value, enabling a wider customer base to access premium technology. Jazz, known for its innovation in digital connectivity, sees this move as a vital component of its efforts to bridge the digital divide in Pakistan. According to Ali Fahd, Head of Marketing at Jazz, the partnership with Mercantile underscores Jazz’s mission to empower consumers through innovation, improved connectivity, and added value, all while making high-end devices more attainable.

Nauman Durrani, CEO of Mercantile Pakistan, emphasized the simplicity and effectiveness of the program, noting that it provides customers with a straightforward way to upgrade their phones while enjoying a better overall experience. The program is currently available at Jazz Experience Centers in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. It is limited to full-price purchases and does not yet apply to postpaid installment plans.

In addition to the trade-in option, Jazz is offering customers who purchase a PTA-approved iPhone 16 through its platform an exclusive six-month bundle that significantly enhances the value of the transaction. The package includes 200GB of internet data, six months of free Jazz-to-Jazz airtime, e-SIM activation, discount vouchers, and handset insurance worth up to Rs. 100,000. This insurance covers theft, loss, and accidental damage for a six-month period, offering users added protection and peace of mind.

Jazz is also offering the iPhone 16 series on an 18-month installment plan, although this option is currently available only to postpaid customers. The combination of trade-in benefits, exclusive service bundles, and flexible payment options reflects Jazz’s broader goal of driving digital inclusion and supporting Pakistan’s transition into a digitally connected society.

By introducing the country’s first iPhone Trade-In Program, Jazz and Mercantile are setting a new standard for tech accessibility in Pakistan. The partnership is expected to encourage the adoption of newer smartphone models while promoting responsible upgrading habits and contributing to a more connected, tech-savvy population. This initiative is a clear reflection of how strategic partnerships in the telecom and technology sectors can create meaningful impact by aligning affordability with innovation.
