Faysal Bank Recognized for Advancing Disability-Inclusive Banking in Pakistan

Faysal Bank Limited (FBL), a leading player in Pakistan’s Islamic banking sector, has been formally recognized for its proactive role in promoting disability-inclusive banking services. The bank was awarded the title of “Most Disability-Friendly Branch Network” and also secured the Runner-Up position for “Excellence in Employment of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)” at the 2025 Pakistan PWDs Finclusion Awards.

The awards, hosted in Karachi, were organized by Determined Pakistan, a platform focused on promoting the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities. The event was inspired by the State Bank of Pakistan’s comprehensive policy framework aimed at enhancing the financial inclusion of PWDs—a vision that Faysal Bank has seamlessly integrated into its business model.

Faysal Bank’s recognition is not only a reflection of its institutional values but also an important step forward for Pakistan’s banking sector. As part of a broader transformation strategy, FBL has steadily expanded its network of accessible branches, introduced employee training programs focused on inclusive customer service, and invested in assistive technologies to ensure banking services are equitable and accommodating.

This latest accolade highlights the bank’s alignment with national efforts to build a more inclusive financial system. The SBP’s policy direction on financial inclusion for PWDs has laid the foundation, but it is the execution at the institutional level—like that demonstrated by Faysal Bank—that makes meaningful change possible.

Speaking at the occasion, Yousaf Hussain, President and CEO of Faysal Bank, reiterated the bank’s commitment to equity and inclusion. “At Faysal Bank, we believe that meaningful growth is only possible when it is inclusive, accessible, and rooted in compassion. Our vision is to build a banking system that reflects the diversity of our nation and leaves no one behind,” he said. “These recognitions reaffirm our commitment to embedding equity into our service, our spaces, and our culture.”

Under Hussain’s leadership, FBL has embraced a purpose-driven philosophy, ensuring that banking in Pakistan evolves not only in terms of products and technology but also in terms of people and principles. By promoting inclusive hiring practices and creating accessible customer experiences, the bank continues to lead by example in the integration of DE&I (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) within financial services.

Faysal Bank’s efforts are seen as a blueprint for other institutions aiming to translate policy into action. With accessibility now recognized as a core pillar of customer experience, the banking industry is being encouraged to take similar steps to ensure no demographic is excluded from the financial mainstream.

This milestone adds to FBL’s reputation as a socially responsible institution committed to equitable service delivery and long-term community empowerment. As financial inclusion becomes an increasingly central part of Pakistan’s development agenda, recognitions like these underscore the critical role banks can play in shaping a more inclusive economic future.
