In a significant move to strengthen its Islamic banking network, NBP Aitemaad Islamic Banking has inaugurated a new branch in DHA Phase-2 Karachi. The opening marks a strategic expansion of the bank’s Shariah-compliant services to cater to both business entities and local residents in one of the city’s most vibrant commercial and residential districts.
The new branch is designed to offer a wide range of Islamic banking solutions tailored to the evolving financial needs of individuals and enterprises. By launching operations in DHA Phase-2, NBP Aitemaad aims to bring ethical, inclusive, and easily accessible banking closer to the doorstep of Karachi’s business community and urban clientele.
The inauguration ceremony was held with notable presence from NBP’s top leadership. Mr. Rehmat Ali Hasnie, President & CEO of National Bank of Pakistan, led the opening along with Mr. Fouad Farrukh, SEVP & Group Chief of Aitemaad Islamic Banking Group (AIBG), and Mr. Karim Akram Khan, SEVP & Group Chief of Large Corporate & Investment Banking Group (LCMG). The event was also attended by valued customers and senior staff, making the launch a community-oriented and client-focused initiative.
This new branch is part of NBP Aitemaad’s broader vision to promote Islamic banking by providing Shariah-compliant financial solutions in key urban centers. It reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to contributing to economic progress through faith-based and transparent financial practices. The facility will offer core Islamic banking services including deposit accounts, financing options, investment products, and digital banking support, all aligned with Islamic principles.
According to the bank’s leadership, this move represents more than just physical expansion—it is a reaffirmation of NBP Aitemaad’s dedication to building trust, offering ethical alternatives to conventional banking, and supporting financial inclusion across Pakistan.
Speaking at the inauguration, Rehmat Ali Hasnie emphasized the significance of this branch for the area’s commercial growth. “NBP Aitemaad’s presence in DHA Phase-2 enables us to connect directly with one of Karachi’s key business hubs. We are here not just to offer banking but to build relationships, empower entrepreneurs, and serve the community with sincerity and purpose,” he said.
Mr. Fouad Farrukh also highlighted how the expansion aligns with the national agenda to broaden the reach of Islamic finance in Pakistan. “This new branch is another milestone in our journey to transform banking through integrity, purpose, and innovation. As demand for Islamic banking increases, we aim to ensure our services are readily available in key localities,” he stated.
The opening of the DHA Phase-2 branch adds momentum to NBP Aitemaad’s mission of delivering Shariah-compliant, customer-centric banking experiences. As Pakistan’s financial sector gradually shifts towards ethical finance, institutions like NBP Aitemaad are playing a leading role in reshaping the narrative and accessibility of Islamic banking for all.
