NIBAF Pakistan Launches Mid-Career Management Development Program to Strengthen Leadership Skills

NIBAF Pakistan has commenced its three-week Mid-Career Management Development Program (MMDP) from September 1 to 20, 2025, at the Karachi Campus, aimed at enhancing the leadership, strategic thinking, and managerial capabilities of mid-career officers. The program reflects NIBAF’s ongoing commitment to nurturing a new generation of dynamic and forward-looking banking professionals capable of driving innovation and sustainable growth in Pakistan’s financial sector.

The intensive training initiative has brought together officers from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and SBP-BSC, creating a platform for knowledge exchange, professional development, and peer learning. The program is being conducted under the expert guidance of Mr. Aqeel Ahmed, Joint Director of the Financial Sector Development Department, and Dr. Zahid ur Rehman Khokhar, Director of the Institute of Financial and Professional Development (IFPD). Both trainers bring years of experience in leadership development, financial management, and strategic planning, ensuring participants receive insights grounded in practical and regulatory realities.

The MMDP is structured to provide a holistic learning experience that covers leadership development, advanced managerial techniques, risk management, strategic decision-making, and effective communication skills. Participants are exposed to a combination of lectures, interactive workshops, case studies, and group exercises designed to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and organizational effectiveness.

In addition to leadership skills, the program emphasizes strategic foresight and innovation in banking operations, helping officers align their managerial approaches with evolving industry standards and global best practices. The sessions also focus on fostering a culture of accountability, ethical decision-making, and resilience, equipping mid-career professionals with the tools to navigate complex challenges in a dynamic financial landscape.

Participants benefit from practical exercises that simulate real-world scenarios, enabling them to apply conceptual knowledge to operational challenges. The program encourages collaboration across departments and institutions, strengthening interbank understanding and creating a network of professionals capable of driving change in their respective roles.

NIBAF Pakistan’s MMDP also addresses emerging trends in financial management, regulatory compliance, and technology adoption, ensuring officers are well-prepared to support digital transformation initiatives and strategic growth in their institutions. This aligns with the broader objectives of the SBP and other banking stakeholders to cultivate capable leaders who can contribute to the stability, efficiency, and innovation of Pakistan’s banking ecosystem.

The program’s comprehensive approach ensures that participants leave with enhanced leadership capabilities, actionable strategies for organizational improvement, and a broader understanding of contemporary banking challenges. NIBAF continues to play a critical role in professionalizing Pakistan’s banking sector, providing training programs that strengthen institutional capacity and promote excellence in financial management.
