Mobilink Bank and TPL Life Launch Medical Camps for Flood-Hit Communities in Punjab

Mobilink Bank, one of Pakistan’s leading digital microfinance institutions, has joined hands with TPL Life Insurance to provide critical healthcare services to flood-affected communities across Punjab. The collaboration comes at a time when many rural populations have been left vulnerable due to disrupted infrastructure and lack of medical facilities following recent floods.

The initiative focused on setting up day-long medical camps in areas most severely impacted, including Pakpattan, Sialkot, and Minchinabad in Bahawalnagar. These regions were among the hardest hit, with healthcare systems either stretched beyond capacity or completely inaccessible for local residents. The camps offered free consultations, general check-ups, essential medicines, and tetanus vaccinations, directly addressing the pressing needs of people struggling to secure basic medical assistance.

According to Mobilink Bank, over 300 patients benefited from the camps, underscoring the urgent demand for healthcare in communities devastated by natural disasters. Many residents in rural Punjab had been unable to access reliable treatment since the flooding began, making this intervention both timely and vital.

Commenting on the initiative, Atta Ur Rehman, Chief Business Officer at Mobilink Bank, stressed the importance of restoring healthcare access in the wake of such calamities. “In the wake of the recent floods, we recognized the urgent need to restore access to healthcare where infrastructure had been most affected. By bringing essential medical facilities directly to our affected customers in rural and suburban areas, we reaffirmed our commitment to standing by those who need us the most,” he said.

The collaboration also drew appreciation from TPL Life’s leadership. Saad Nissar, CEO of TPL Life Insurance Limited, highlighted the broader significance of such corporate partnerships in times of crisis. “This initiative stands as a testament to the impact that can be created when like-minded institutions unite for a greater cause. Through our partnership with Mobilink Bank, we were able to provide essential healthcare services to communities during their most vulnerable moments,” Nissar said.

The combined effort between Mobilink Bank and TPL Life reflects a growing trend of financial and insurance institutions extending their roles beyond traditional services and into community-driven social responsibility initiatives. Mobilink Bank’s operational capacity allowed for smooth organization and outreach, while TPL Life contributed medical expertise, ensuring quality care for those in need.

Such initiatives also reinforce the increasing importance of private sector participation in disaster response and relief. While government agencies and humanitarian organizations play a central role, corporate actors are stepping up to complement these efforts, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Mobilink Bank and TPL Life’s partnership demonstrates how banks and insurers can leverage their resources and networks to create meaningful social impact.

The medical camps not only provided immediate relief but also helped restore a sense of hope within communities grappling with the aftermath of natural disasters. By delivering healthcare directly to those who otherwise would have gone without, this collaboration has set an example of how financial institutions can expand their role in supporting resilience and recovery across Pakistan.
