The National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) Pakistan successfully concluded the three-day Teller Certification Training Program (Batch 3) for officers of the Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (BAJK), marking another milestone in its mission to enhance human capital across the country’s financial institutions. The program ended with a certificate distribution ceremony held at the Kashmir Council Secretariat Camp Office in Islamabad, recognizing the participants’ efforts and commitment to professional development.
The event was graced by Mr. Abdul Majid Khan, Finance Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, who attended as the Chief Guest. Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Khan commended NIBAF’s role in promoting professional excellence and equipping banking professionals with the necessary knowledge and ethical foundation to serve effectively in the financial sector. He emphasized that initiatives like the Teller Certification Program are essential for strengthening the banking ecosystem, improving customer trust, and ensuring operational efficiency at all levels.
The Teller Certification Program, conducted from October 25 to 27, 2025, focused on developing key skills among tellers — the frontline representatives of any financial institution. Participants from various BAJK branches attended the training, which covered critical aspects such as ethical conduct, personal grooming, customer handling, and communication excellence. Through an engaging mix of interactive sessions, group exercises, and real-world case studies, the program aimed to create well-rounded professionals capable of upholding the highest standards of banking service.
Trainer Mr. Usman Kamel led the sessions, guiding participants through the theme of “Ethics and Personal Grooming.” The training emphasized the importance of integrity, discipline, and professional behavior in daily operations. Mr. Kamel highlighted that tellers play a vital role in shaping the customer experience, as they are often the first point of interaction between the bank and its clients. By fostering professionalism and ethical awareness, the program sought to help tellers build lasting customer relationships rooted in trust and transparency.
During the closing ceremony, Mr. Abdul Majid Khan praised both the participants and NIBAF for their collaborative efforts in building institutional capacity. He encouraged BAJK officers to apply the knowledge gained during the training in their respective branches, ensuring that the values of honesty, precision, and service excellence translate into measurable improvements in performance.
NIBAF representatives shared that the Teller Certification Program is part of a broader initiative to uplift the skill level of banking professionals across Pakistan. The program not only focuses on technical knowledge but also on personal development and workplace ethics, ensuring that participants emerge as confident and competent contributors to the financial system.
The Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has been actively investing in employee training and professional growth through continuous engagement with NIBAF. This collaboration underscores the bank’s commitment to operational excellence, transparency, and customer satisfaction, aligning with its strategic vision to strengthen the region’s banking infrastructure.
Participants expressed appreciation for the program, highlighting that it provided valuable insights into ethical decision-making, personal conduct, and customer relationship management. Many described the sessions as transformative, noting that the practical lessons learned will directly enhance their day-to-day performance and professional confidence.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to the successful participants, marking the completion of an intensive yet rewarding training experience. The event also symbolized NIBAF’s enduring dedication to human resource development within the financial sector, reinforcing its role as a key institution in advancing Pakistan’s banking education and professional standards.
As Pakistan’s banking industry continues to modernize, the focus on structured training and ethical leadership remains essential. NIBAF’s programs like the Teller Certification Training play a crucial role in ensuring that the next generation of bankers is equipped to handle the evolving demands of the industry with integrity and professionalism.
