Bank Alfalah Launches Worklee App to Drive Inclusive Remote Hiring in Pakistan

Karachi, May 6, 2025 – Bank Alfalah, one of Pakistan’s leading commercial banks, has unveiled Worklee, the country’s first human resources hiring and remote working app developed by a financial institution. This pioneering initiative marks a significant step forward in inclusive employment practices and the digitization of recruitment in Pakistan’s banking sector.

Worklee has been designed to democratize access to employment opportunities by enabling a remote and inclusive hiring process. The app specifically targets underserved groups, including women seeking flexible work arrangements, persons with disabilities (PwDs), and freelancers, offering them a platform to connect with professional roles that traditionally require a physical office presence.

The launch of Worklee is aligned with the State Bank of Pakistan’s ‘Banking on Equality’ framework, which calls on financial institutions to implement gender and inclusion-sensitive policies. By addressing systemic barriers to employment, Bank Alfalah is reinforcing its commitment to equity, financial empowerment, and digital inclusion.

According to Bank Alfalah, the Worklee app allows users to register, create profiles, browse open positions, and apply for remote jobs within the bank. The onboarding process includes digital assessments and training, enabling a seamless transition from application to employment—all within the app’s secure ecosystem.

Initially, Worklee will support the recruitment of remote WhatsApp chat agents for the bank’s contact centers. However, Bank Alfalah plans to expand the range of roles available through the app, including technical positions such as programmers and coders, based on future business requirements and demand.

Faisal Farooq Khan, Chief Human Resources Officer, Human Capital Group at Bank Alfalah, highlighted the broader vision behind the launch. “At Bank Alfalah, we are committed to creating equal employment opportunities for individuals who face challenges in traditional work environments. Alfalah Worklee is more than just a hiring platform—it’s a bridge to financial independence for people from diverse walks of life. We believe talent should be the only criteria for professional growth, not physical accessibility.”

Worklee is available for free download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and offers a user-friendly interface that supports end-to-end job application and training modules. With this app, users can not only apply for jobs but also receive digital onboarding and begin contributing remotely in roles that match their skills.

By launching Worklee, Bank Alfalah is setting a new precedent for digital HR practices in the banking industry and reinforcing its position as a progressive and socially responsible institution. The initiative also reflects the bank’s ongoing commitment to leveraging technology for greater financial inclusion, workforce diversification, and gender equality.

This move is expected to inspire other institutions in Pakistan to explore similar technology-driven solutions for inclusive hiring. As the employment landscape evolves, initiatives like Worklee demonstrate how financial institutions can play a transformative role in bridging the gap between opportunity and accessibility.

Bank Alfalah’s Worklee app is not just a digital tool—it represents a shift toward a more inclusive and flexible employment model, unlocking new opportunities in Pakistan’s banking and tech-driven labor markets.
