PESHAWAR: The Bank of Khyber (BoK) has officially launched its Point-of-Sale (POS) acquiring services in collaboration with KuickPay, marking a significant milestone in the bank’s digital transformation journey and its commitment to enhancing Pakistan’s payments ecosystem. The launch underscores BoK’s determination to adopt modern technology solutions that not only benefit its merchant network but also support the national agenda of fostering financial inclusion and reducing cash dependency.
The launch ceremony was led by Hassan Raza, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BoK, alongside senior officials from both organizations. Among the key figures present was Arbab Ali Khan, Managing Director of KuickPay, whose company has been playing an active role in strengthening Pakistan’s fintech landscape. The partnership aims to bring together BoK’s strong banking presence and KuickPay’s technological expertise to deliver secure, reliable, and convenient digital payment solutions to a growing customer base.
Through this initiative, BoK will roll out POS acquiring services across its merchant network. The service is designed to enable merchants to accept card-based payments seamlessly, improving transaction efficiency and offering customers greater convenience. The availability of POS services is expected to help the bank strengthen its deposit base, diversify its fee-based income, and expand its footprint in the competitive digital banking market.
For merchants, the introduction of BoK’s POS services means access to secure, fast, and seamless payment infrastructure. Customers, in turn, will benefit from reduced reliance on cash transactions and improved access to digital payment options. This development directly aligns with Pakistan’s broader move toward a digitally inclusive economy and supports the “Cashless Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” initiative, a regional program aimed at accelerating the adoption of electronic payments.
Bank representatives highlighted that the launch reflects BoK’s broader strategy to modernize its operations and integrate fintech solutions into its service portfolio. By leveraging KuickPay’s innovative payment technologies, the bank seeks to position itself as a forward-looking institution ready to meet the evolving demands of both retail and corporate clients.
Hassan Raza emphasized that this collaboration not only advances BoK’s digital agenda but also contributes to national goals of financial inclusion. “With the introduction of POS acquiring services, we are strengthening our role as a progressive and technology-driven financial institution. This initiative is about enabling merchants, empowering consumers, and ensuring that our financial system evolves in line with global digital banking practices,” he said.
KuickPay executives echoed similar sentiments, underscoring the importance of partnerships between banks and fintechs in shaping Pakistan’s payment infrastructure. They noted that the increasing adoption of digital channels by consumers and merchants requires banks to stay agile, collaborative, and innovative.
With this launch, BoK joins a growing list of Pakistani banks embracing digital payments as part of their core strategy. By reducing reliance on cash and making payments more accessible and secure, the partnership between BoK and KuickPay is expected to play a vital role in reshaping the financial services ecosystem of Pakistan.
