Finance Minister Reviews FBR’s Revenue Collection Strategy

The Federal Minister for Finance, Muhammad Aurangzeb, visited the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) headquarters to review the progress of revenue collection for the current fiscal year. The meeting was attended by senior officials from FBR, including the newly appointed Chairman, Rashid Mahmood Langrial.

The Finance Minister acknowledged the contributions of the previous FBR Chairman, Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana, particularly in the areas of budgeting and IMF negotiations. He also expressed confidence in the new Chairman’s ability to lead the organization and achieve its revenue targets.

During the meeting, FBR presented detailed reports on its operations, including inland revenue and customs activities. The Finance Minister appreciated FBR team’s efforts to maximize revenue collection and broaden the tax base, which is crucial for sustainable economic development.
