Four Terrorists Killed in Intelligence-Based Operation in Khyber District, ISPR Confirms

In a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) on Saturday, Pakistani security forces eliminated four terrorists and injured two others in the general area of Bagh, Khyber District. The operation, which was carried out in response to a series of terrorist activities, saw the security forces target a known hideout of terrorists, referred to as “khawarij.” The operation was confirmed by the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a press release issued shortly after the event.

According to the ISPR, the targeted operation was conducted with precision, leading to the death of four key terrorists, including prominent figures Aziz ur Rehman, also known as Qari Ismail, and Mukhlis, both of whom were identified as leading figures in the terrorist group. These individuals had been heavily involved in planning and executing multiple attacks against both security forces and innocent civilians in the region. Their deaths mark a significant blow to the terrorist organization operating in the area.

The ISPR further stated that the operation resulted in the recovery of weapons and ammunition, highlighting the ongoing efforts by Pakistani forces to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent further violence. The military confirmed that a sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area, ensuring that the threat of terrorism continues to be eradicated.

This intelligence-based operation is part of a broader effort by the Pakistan Army to combat terrorism in Khyber District, which has seen an uptick in violence in recent months. The area has been a hotspot for terrorist activities, with the ISPR reporting that 22 terrorists have been killed and 18 others injured since mid-December 2024, following a series of IBOs in the Tirah area.

The recent surge in terrorist incidents in Khyber District has targeted both security forces and civilians, leading to several casualties. On January 16, the ISPR reported that a series of attacks had occurred, which prompted the military to launch extensive operations in the region. The terrorist attacks have been particularly concerning, with increasing concerns about the safety of civilians in the region.

In response to these developments, the ISPR stated that security forces have ramped up their efforts to eliminate terrorist elements in Khyber District. The military emphasized that these operations, including intelligence-based raids, would continue until peace is fully restored in the region. The security forces’ determination to wipe out the threat of terrorism and ensure the safety of citizens remains steadfast.

The military’s resolve to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan has been a consistent theme in recent operations. The ISPR’s statement underscored the commitment of the Pakistan Army to ensure that the menace of terrorism is eradicated from the country’s borders, a mission that has gained considerable focus in the wake of recent violence in Khyber District and other parts of the country.

As the sanitization operation continues, Pakistani authorities are optimistic that the ongoing crackdown on terrorism will lead to a safer environment for both civilians and security forces in the region. The operation in Khyber District represents another step in the broader campaign to restore peace and stability, with a clear message: the security forces will not rest until terrorism is completely eradicated from Pakistan.
