ICMA KSA Branch Webinar on Unit Economics Scheduled for November 7, 2026

The ICMA KSA Branch Council, in collaboration with the National Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Committee, is organising an online webinar titled “From Cost per Unit to Profit per Customer: Unit Economics for Management Accountants” on November 7, 2026. The session is designed to explore how management accountants can use unit economics to understand business costs, evaluate customer profitability and support financial decision-making.

Unit economics focuses on the revenues and costs associated with an individual product, service, customer or business transaction. By examining these financial elements at a more detailed level, organisations can gain a clearer understanding of which activities contribute to profitability and where costs may be affecting financial performance. The subject is particularly relevant to management accountants, who work with financial information to support budgeting, cost control, performance measurement and business planning.

The webinar will focus on the relationship between cost per unit and profit per customer, highlighting the importance of looking beyond overall revenue and expenditure figures. While revenue growth can indicate expanding business activity, it does not necessarily show whether individual customers or transactions are generating sustainable returns. Analysing the costs associated with serving customers can help organisations assess the financial contribution of different products, services and customer segments.

Muhammad Hammad ur Rehman, FCMA and FCCA, will lead the session. He will discuss the subject from the perspective of management accounting and the use of unit-level financial information in business decisions. The webinar will be hosted by Waseem Ahmed, FCMA, who will moderate the programme and guide the discussion.

The topic is relevant to management accountants and finance professionals involved in analysing business performance, evaluating operating costs and advising organisations on financial strategies. A better understanding of unit economics can help finance teams identify cost pressures, assess customer value and provide management with more detailed information for operational and commercial decisions. It can also support organisations in evaluating whether their business models generate sufficient returns as their customer base and operations expand.

The webinar will take place online through Zoom on Saturday, November 7, 2026. The scheduled timing is 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM Saudi Arabia Standard Time, corresponding to 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM Pakistan Standard Time. Participation will be free, and attendees will receive two hours of Continuing Professional Development credit.

Through this collaboration, the ICMA KSA Branch Council and National CPD Committee are providing management accounting professionals with an opportunity to explore a practical financial management topic. The session will bring attention to how cost analysis and customer-level profitability assessment can contribute to more informed business decisions and a clearer understanding of organisational performance.
