JazzCash Launches Women Account, Hosts High-Level Panel on Digital and Financial Inclusion

33 Views by webdesk

JazzCash has announced the launch of its Women Account, a dedicated financial product aimed at advancing digital and financial inclusion for women across Pakistan. The launch will be followed by a panel discussion bringing together senior leaders from the fintech, regulatory, development, and business communities to explore how technology and policy can accelerate women’s economic empowerment.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, 17th February 2026 at 3:30 p.m., and will convene a diverse lineup of speakers representing key institutions involved in shaping Pakistan’s digital finance and inclusion landscape. The conversation is positioned as an engagement platform to address structural gaps in access to financial services and to examine how collaborative efforts can expand opportunities for women in the digital economy.

The panel will feature Haris Javed, Head of Customer Experience and Customer Operations at JazzCash, who is expected to highlight the operational and user-centric design aspects behind the Women Account initiative. From the development sector, Zarene Zuberi, Gender and Economic Inclusion Specialist at UN Women Pakistan, will contribute insights into gender-responsive financial systems and policy frameworks that support equitable access to economic resources.

Samia Salik, Gender Lead for Digital Financial Services at Karandaaz Pakistan, will bring a perspective rooted in digital financial ecosystem development and market-level interventions designed to broaden access for underserved segments. Salman Shehzad, Senior Joint Director, Financial Inclusion and Digital Financial Services Group at the State Bank of Pakistan, is also part of the panel, representing the regulatory view on advancing inclusive banking and mobile wallet penetration nationwide. Completing the lineup is Zunaira Omar, Chief Executive Officer of the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who will provide insights from the entrepreneurial and business community regarding barriers and opportunities for women-led enterprises.

The discussion will be moderated by Rabia Khattak, Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Jazz, and will focus on how partnerships between fintech providers, regulators, development institutions, and private sector stakeholders can narrow gender gaps in financial access. The conversation aims to examine practical pathways for expanding digital wallet usage among women, strengthening trust in mobile financial platforms, and embedding inclusive design principles into digital financial services.

The launch of the Women Account reflects JazzCash’s strategic intent to tailor digital financial products to specific demographic segments, particularly women who remain disproportionately excluded from formal banking channels. By combining product innovation with multi-stakeholder dialogue, the initiative seeks to address both structural and behavioral factors limiting financial participation.

Industry observers note that gender-based financial exclusion remains a critical issue in Pakistan’s digital finance landscape, despite rapid growth in mobile wallet adoption and branchless banking networks. Dedicated products such as the JazzCash Women Account are viewed as targeted interventions that can help bridge the gap by addressing accessibility, usability, and trust concerns unique to women users.

The event is expected to draw professionals, policymakers, fintech leaders, and advocates committed to inclusive growth. By aligning product rollout with a policy-driven dialogue, JazzCash is positioning the Women Account not only as a financial offering but as part of a broader conversation on inclusive digital transformation.

Through this initiative, stakeholders aim to move closer to building a more inclusive digital future, where technology-enabled financial services contribute meaningfully to women’s economic participation and long-term financial resilience.
