Pakistan’s digital finance landscape continues to evolve rapidly as Mobilink Bank has bagged four prestigious awards at the 9th Annual Microfinance Conference (AMC-9). The recognition underscores the bank’s pivotal role in driving financial inclusion, advancing innovation, and empowering women across underserved communities.
Themed “Renaissance of Microfinance,” AMC-9 recognized Mobilink Bank as the Top Microfinance Bank for Active Borrowers (Nano-loans), Top Microfinance Bank in terms of M-Wallets powered by JazzCash, Top Microfinance Bank for Innovation, and the Leading Microfinance Bank in terms of Women Borrowers. These accolades reflect the bank’s leadership in expanding microcredit access, enabling digital adoption, and promoting gender-inclusive financial solutions.
Aamir Ibrahim, Chairman of Mobilink Bank, shared his thoughts on the achievement, noting that meaningful financial inclusion goes beyond access. “These awards reaffirm that meaningful financial inclusion isn’t just about access, it’s about impact. At Mobilink Bank and JazzCash, we are combining technology with empathy to enable millions of Pakistanis, especially women, to participate confidently in the formal economy. This recognition validates our belief that when innovation serves inclusion, progress becomes inevitable.”
Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, President and CEO of Mobilink Bank, emphasized the operational scale and impact of the bank’s efforts. “Winning four awards at AMC-9 is a proud moment for Mobilink Bank – a testament to our commitment to innovation, financial inclusion, and women’s empowerment. Every day, we disburse over 150,000 nano-loans through JazzCash, that bring dignity, ease, and opportunity to underserved communities, strengthening Pakistan’s socio-economic landscape. From supporting people through COVID-19 to standing by them during floods, we remain steadfast in delivering inclusive digital solutions with integrity and purpose.”
Mobilink Bank has grown to serve more than 8.2 million active nano-loan borrowers, with total disbursements exceeding PKR 45.9 billion. JazzCash, Pakistan’s largest digital financial services platform, supports 53.5 million wallet holders, with women making up 33% of account ownership. The bank’s recent core banking upgrade to R23 is a significant step in advancing digital innovation and operational capabilities.
AMC-9 is jointly organized by Pakistan Microfinance Network and UNIDO-PAIDAR. The event gathered regulators like State Bank of Pakistan and Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan, along with development partners including World Bank and Asian Development Bank, as well as financial sector leaders and innovators.
As Pakistan’s financial ecosystem undergoes digital transformation, Mobilink Bank remains committed to its founding mission of empowering communities through financial inclusion, enabling access to credit for women, and setting new standards in microfinance innovation. Its efforts align closely with the broader push to integrate digital solutions into the country’s economic framework.
