National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) has added another milestone to its growing list of accolades by securing the UnionPay International (UPI) Award for Strategic Contribution in the category of Marketing Promotion. The award was formally presented to Rehmat Ali Hasnie, President and CEO of NBP, by Nadeem Haroon, Country Head of UPI for Pakistan, Qatar, Bahrain, and Afghanistan.
The achievement was commemorated during a special event attended by senior leadership from both institutions. Among those representing NBP were Adnan Nasir, SEVP and Chief Digital Officer; Fouad Farrukh, SEVP and Group Chief of Aitemaad Islamic Banking; Faisal Ahmed Topra, SEVP of Retail Banking; Imran Farooqui, SEVP and Group Chief of Operations; and Nabeel Aslam, SVP and Wing Head of Cards. The award acknowledges NBP’s successful marketing initiatives carried out in partnership with Golootlo, one of Pakistan’s largest discount platforms. By leveraging Golootlo’s network of over 30,000 merchants nationwide, NBP has rolled out impactful campaigns for both employees and customers, encouraging widespread debit card usage and enhancing customer convenience. These initiatives have also supported digital adoption, enabling the bank to create stronger engagement with its customer base while aligning with broader industry trends toward a cashless economy.

Previous accolades include recognition for Highest Debit Card Issuance, Highest POS Spend, Highest Number of Active POS Users, and Highest Virtual Cards. Together, these achievements highlight NBP’s consistent performance in digital banking services and its ability to set industry benchmarks.
