Nawaz Sharif Claims Policy Rate Cut Boosts Business Confidence in Pakistan’s Economy

On Tuesday, President of the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif, expressed his optimism about the recent reduction in the policy rate, stating that it has significantly boosted confidence within the business community. During a meeting with Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) from various districts, including Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Rajanpur, and DG Khan, Sharif emphasized the positive effects of the policy change on the national economy. The meeting, which was attended by Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, also delved into discussions on public welfare projects and the party’s future political strategies.

Addressing the assembly members, Nawaz Sharif highlighted that, after enduring tough economic conditions, the reduction in inflation has provided some relief to the people of Pakistan. He expressed hope that further decreases in the cost of living would allow for even greater financial relief for the public. “Construction work has started again, signaling a recovery in key sectors,” Sharif said. Additionally, he noted that international financial institutions have recognized the efforts of Shehbaz Sharif and his leadership in navigating the challenging economic climate.

Sharif also took the opportunity to criticize political opponents, asserting that they were driven by hatred and jealousy. He further emphasized that PML-N’s track record in serving the nation, particularly in the fields of political development, defense, and infrastructure, has been exemplary. According to Sharif, if the country’s development had not been interrupted, Pakistan would have been far ahead in regional and global standings, with citizens experiencing better living conditions.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in her address to the MPs, reiterated the heavy responsibility that comes with the trust bestowed upon the leadership of Punjab. “The trust of the leadership, the party, and the people of Punjab is a big responsibility,” she remarked. “It is not easy to meet the standards of public service set by Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif.”

The Punjab Assembly members also expressed their admiration for the leadership and contributions of the Sharif family. According to the MPs, Nawaz Sharif has consistently been a beacon of hope for the nation, especially during times of hardship. His commitment to the state, at times prioritizing national welfare over political interests, has set a powerful example of patriotism. The members emphasized that PML-N remains the party that consistently provides relief to the people, with Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s leadership being a notable example of success.

The assembly members also praised the rapid development taking place in Punjab, citing improvements in various sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, industry, and environmental policies. They commended the speed, transparency, and quality of development projects under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Her efforts, particularly in promoting the welfare of farmers and improving agricultural practices, were noted as unprecedented. The MPs emphasized that not only in Punjab but across the country, people are recognizing and appreciating the pace of development under the PML-N-led government.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s growing popularity among women and youth in Pakistan was also highlighted, with many pointing to her as an emerging figure in the political landscape of the region. As the meeting came to a close, the assembly members thanked the Chief Minister for her leadership and for meeting with them.

The meeting was also attended by senior party leaders, including Senator Pervez Rashid, Rana Sanaullah, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, and Rashid Nasrullah, who all took part in the discussions surrounding Punjab’s political and development agenda.
