NIBAF Completes 3-Day Branch Management Certification, Strengthening Leadership Skills Across Banking Sector

NIBAF Pakistan continues its momentum in banking sector capacity building with the successful completion of a three-day certification training titled Branch Management 360 Degree. Held at the institute’s Lahore campus from November 19 to 21, 2025, the program attracted around 17 participants from a range of commercial banks. The initiative aimed to equip mid-level and aspiring branch leaders with practical tools to navigate the operational, managerial, and strategic demands of branch banking in an evolving financial environment.

The program offered a structured learning experience designed to help participants strengthen their understanding of branch-level performance management, customer relationship practices, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. As banks across Pakistan adapt to new technologies, shifting customer expectations, and tight competitive pressures, branch managers are expected to take on wider responsibilities that blend leadership with strong administrative oversight. The course positioned itself as a comprehensive overview of these requirements, ensuring that participants return to their institutions with updated skills and fresh insight.

Training was conducted by a panel of experienced professionals well-regarded in the industry for their leadership and operational expertise. Syed Qutub ud din Haider guided participants through core elements of branch governance, staff coordination, and performance monitoring. His sessions emphasized the importance of building strong internal communication systems and maintaining service quality standards that align with institutional goals.

Arshid Ishaq Rathor contributed with modules focused on operational risk, compliance responsibilities, and process optimization. His guidance included case-based discussions that helped participants understand common operational bottlenecks and the role of branch leaders in preventing service disruptions, ensuring audit readiness, and maintaining efficient workflows across daily functions.

The training series concluded with sessions led by Munaza Majeed, who highlighted customer-centric leadership, relationship-building techniques, and practical strategies for enhancing branch productivity. Her segments reinforced the importance of cultivating a proactive service culture within the branch environment, particularly as customer satisfaction and digital engagement become increasingly critical to bank performance.

Participants actively engaged throughout the course, participating in group discussions, scenario-based exercises, and assessments that encouraged them to apply newly acquired knowledge to real-world challenges. The interaction among professionals from different banks created a collaborative environment where participants could share experiences, compare operational approaches, and learn from one another’s institutional practices.

NIBAF noted that the program’s multi-dimensional approach reflects the rapidly changing nature of Pakistan’s banking landscape. With digital transformation reshaping branch operations, bank employees face growing expectations to manage hybrid workflows, balance customer-facing responsibilities with back-office coordination, and ensure continuous compliance with regulatory frameworks. Programs like Branch Management 360 Degree are designed to provide a well-rounded understanding of these demands while helping banks cultivate leadership pipelines capable of supporting long-term stability.

The completion of this training adds to NIBAF’s expanding portfolio of professional development initiatives, which aim to strengthen human capital across the banking and financial sector. As banks prepare to address new regulatory challenges, adopt digital solutions, and enhance operational resilience, structured learning programs remain a vital tool for ensuring workforce readiness.
