NIBAF Pakistan held an in-person training session titled “Mind over Matter – Resilience and Mindfulness for Everyday Challenges” on October 10, 2025, at its Karachi Campus. The session was specifically designed for officers of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), reflecting a growing emphasis on employee well-being and mental resilience in high-stakes professional environments.
The training was conducted by Ms. Uroosa Mohsin, who guided participants through practical techniques to cultivate mindfulness, emotional balance, and resilience in the face of daily personal and professional pressures. As workplaces become more complex and fast-paced, initiatives like this are gaining importance as they help professionals enhance their ability to manage stress effectively while maintaining focus and composure.
The program provided participants with a structured learning experience aimed at building psychological strength and adaptive coping strategies. It emphasized the role of mindfulness in helping individuals stay centered during challenging situations, enabling better decision-making and improved workplace performance. Participants explored how mindful practices can reduce burnout, increase emotional intelligence, and create a healthier work-life balance.
NIBAF’s training also underlined the connection between mental well-being and organizational effectiveness. By equipping SBP officers with resilience-building tools, the institute aims to foster a work culture that values emotional awareness, self-regulation, and proactive stress management. The session was designed to be interactive, allowing officers to share experiences and engage in exercises that enhance personal reflection and self-awareness.
The inclusion of resilience and mindfulness in professional development programs marks a shift in how organizations are approaching workforce training. While technical and operational skills remain critical, soft skills such as emotional intelligence, self-regulation, and mental agility are increasingly seen as essential for effective leadership and sustained performance.
The trainer, Ms. Uroosa Mohsin, brought a practical and engaging approach to the session, helping participants understand how mindfulness can be integrated into everyday routines without requiring major lifestyle changes. Techniques such as controlled breathing, mindful observation, and cognitive reframing were discussed as effective tools for managing stress and building long-term resilience.
The program aligns with broader global trends where financial institutions and regulatory bodies are investing in employee well-being initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce workplace fatigue, and support mental health. By conducting such targeted sessions for SBP officers, NIBAF is playing an important role in promoting a more balanced and supportive work environment.
Through initiatives like these, NIBAF continues to expand its training portfolio beyond technical skill-building to focus on holistic employee development. This strategic approach reflects an understanding that resilient, mindful professionals contribute more effectively to institutional goals and foster healthier organizational cultures.
