The National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) Pakistan hosted an engaging session under the PSPC Leadership Induction Program (PLIP) – Batch-3 on March 4, 2026, aimed at evaluating leadership competencies and promoting professional development among participants. The session marked the first day of the Competency Assessment Workshop and was held at NIBAF’s Islamabad campus.
The workshop was facilitated by a team of experienced assessors, including Mr. Javed Iqbal, Dr. Shahid Mansoor Hashmi, and Mr. Sardar Shah. Their guidance was focused on structured competency evaluation, interactive assessment activities, and practical exercises designed to strengthen participants’ leadership capabilities and enhance their organizational effectiveness.
During the session, participants engaged in a series of activities that measured key leadership competencies such as decision-making, strategic thinking, communication skills, team management, and problem-solving. The workshop emphasized practical applications of these competencies within professional settings, providing participants with insights into their individual strengths and areas requiring further development. The training also incorporated peer interaction and collaborative exercises, allowing participants to understand the dynamics of effective leadership in team environments. The assessors facilitated discussions on leadership challenges, organizational behavior, and best practices for cultivating a productive workplace culture. These discussions were designed to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world application, preparing participants for higher responsibilities in their respective organizations.
Structured feedback sessions formed an integral part of the workshop, offering participants detailed evaluations of their performance during the exercises. This feedback highlighted key areas for improvement and suggested strategies for enhancing leadership effectiveness, thereby aligning individual growth with organizational goals. The session is part of the broader PSPC Leadership Induction Program, which aims to develop a pool of skilled leaders capable of navigating complex organizational challenges within Pakistan’s banking and financial sector. NIBAF Pakistan has consistently emphasized the importance of leadership development as a strategic tool for improving institutional performance and fostering innovation across financial institutions.
Participants noted that the workshop provided valuable insights into their leadership styles and offered practical techniques to manage teams more effectively. Many highlighted the interactive nature of the session and the depth of analysis provided by the assessors, which contributed to a deeper understanding of personal and organizational leadership dynamics.
The Competency Assessment Workshop also reinforces NIBAF’s commitment to professional development and capacity building in the banking sector. By providing structured evaluation mechanisms and expert guidance, the institute supports participants in achieving higher standards of leadership excellence while ensuring alignment with modern organizational expectations.
Through initiatives like PLIP, NIBAF Pakistan continues to strengthen leadership talent pipelines within the country’s financial sector, fostering a culture of accountability, strategic decision-making, and enhanced performance. The session underlines the importance of continuous skill development for emerging leaders and contributes to the broader objective of cultivating competent professionals capable of driving institutional growth and innovation.
