Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has announced a new oil and gas discovery at the Bobi Oil Field in Sindh, marking another development in the company’s exploration activities in the province. The newly discovered reserves are expected to produce around 1,000 barrels of oil per day, while the well is also expected to deliver approximately 1.0 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day. OGDC, which fully owns the Bobi Oil Field, described the discovery as an important development for its exploration programme and the assessment of additional hydrocarbon potential in the area.
According to OGDC, the latest discovery was made at the Bobi-11 well, with information obtained from the earlier Bobi Deep-1 well helping guide the drilling and assessment process. Data from the previous well provided useful information for the company’s exploration work and contributed to the evaluation of the latest drilling results. The company said the outcome has improved the prospects for identifying additional oil and gas reserves in the surrounding area, potentially supporting further exploration and development activities in the region.
The Bobi Oil Field is located in Sindh and is fully owned by OGDC, giving the company direct control over exploration and development activities associated with the field. The expected production from the new discovery includes around 1,000 barrels of oil per day and 1.0 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day.
