Pak Qatar Family Takaful Limited’s initial public offering (IPO) has received overwhelming response from investors, with the public portion oversubscribed nearly four times, underscoring robust market demand for the company’s shares.
During the two-day subscription period on 17–18 December, investors applied for 47.84 million shares against an issue size of 12.5 million shares, according to the company’s press release. In total, 7,942 applications were received, amounting to Rs862 million. The allotment rules provide that applicants requesting up to 2,000 shares will receive full allocation, while larger applications will be allotted on a pro-rata basis.
The IPO had earlier completed a book-building phase that also attracted strong interest, being oversubscribed 3.2 times. The book-building portion was priced at a 29% premium over the floor price, reflecting investor confidence in the company’s growth potential and market positioning.
Market analysts note that the strong subscription levels indicate a healthy appetite for insurance and takaful sector equities in Pakistan, as investors seek stable, growth-oriented investment opportunities in a market that has recently seen increased liquidity and renewed interest in financial sector offerings.
The successful IPO positions Pak Qatar Family Takaful to leverage the raised capital for expansion and operational initiatives, while providing investors with an opportunity to participate in the growth of a prominent player in Pakistan’s family takaful and insurance sector.
The company’s management and market observers have hailed the oversubscription as a positive indicator of investor confidence in the takaful model, which combines Shariah-compliant insurance practices with growing demand for financial security solutions across Pakistan.
With the public portion fully subscribed and the prior book-building exercise also exceeding expectations, Pak Qatar Family Takaful’s IPO is expected to strengthen its market presence and reinforce investor trust in Pakistan’s insurance and capital markets.
