Pakistan Stock Exchange completes re-composition of NBP Pakistan Growth Index with no constituent changes

Pakistan Stock Exchange has completed the re-composition exercise of the NBP Pakistan Growth Index as of July 31, 2026, in line with the relevant index rules. The exercise resulted in no changes to the companies included in the index, with all 15 existing constituents retaining their positions. While the constituent list remained unchanged, the companies have been assigned revised weights that became effective from Friday, August 7, 2026. The re-composition reflects the latest calculation under the index methodology and provides updated weightings for each company within the NBP Pakistan Growth Index.

Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited holds the highest weight in the re-composed index at 10.00 percent, followed by United Bank Limited with a weight of 9.82 percent and Oil & Gas Development Company Limited at 9.78 percent. Pakistan Petroleum Limited has been assigned a weight of 9.02 percent, while The Hub Power Company Limited carries an 8.39 percent weight. National Bank of Pakistan accounts for 8.28 percent, followed by Meezan Bank Limited at 7.01 percent and Engro Holdings Limited at 6.72 percent. Lucky Cement Limited has a weight of 6.52 percent, while Mari Energies Limited carries 5.86 percent.

The remaining constituents include Habib Bank Limited with a weight of 5.23 percent, Systems Limited at 3.70 percent and MCB Bank Limited at 3.59 percent. Engro Fertilizers Limited has been assigned a weight of 3.08 percent, while Bank AL Habib Limited carries the lowest weight in the index at 3.00 percent. Together, the 15 companies represent the complete constituent base of the NBP Pakistan Growth Index following the latest re-composition exercise. Although there has been no change in the companies forming the index, the revised weightings determine their respective representation under the updated index structure.

The NBP Pakistan Growth Index includes companies from several major segments of Pakistan’s listed corporate sector, including fertiliser, banking, oil and gas, power, cement, technology and other industries. The index currently includes Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited, United Bank Limited, Oil & Gas Development Company Limited, Pakistan Petroleum Limited, The Hub Power Company Limited, National Bank of Pakistan, Meezan Bank Limited, Engro Holdings Limited, Lucky Cement Limited, Mari Energies Limited, Habib Bank Limited, Systems Limited, MCB Bank Limited, Engro Fertilizers Limited and Bank AL Habib Limited. The unchanged constituent list means that the re-composition has focused on updating the respective weights rather than adding or removing companies from the index.

The latest information was disseminated by Pakistan Stock Exchange through a notification to the exchange, covering the re-composition as of July 31, 2026. The revised weights took effect on August 7, 2026, marking the implementation date for the updated index structure. The exercise was conducted according to the applicable NBP Pakistan Growth Index rules, with no constituent changes recorded during the review. The updated composition provides the latest weighting structure for investors and market participants tracking the index and its constituent companies.
