The Pakistani rupee (PKR) concluded today’s trading session unchanged against the US Dollar in the interbank market, maintaining its stability at 278. This marks a continuation of the rupee’s recent resilience against the greenback.
However, while the rupee held its ground against the US Dollar, it faced depreciation against several other major currencies. Notably, the PKR lost significant ground against the Euro, depreciating by Rs. 2.35. Additionally, the rupee lost value against the British Pound, Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, and Saudi Riyal.
Despite the depreciation against these currencies, the PKR remained stable against the UAE Dirham.
Overall, the rupee has experienced a depreciation of nearly Rs. 51.79 since January 2023. This marks a significant decline from its value in April 2022, when it stood at Rs. 95.79 lower than its current level.
