Pakistan’s ICAP Brings CFO Conference Middle East 2024 to Dubai

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), in collaboration with its Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee, is set to hold the 4th CFO Conference Middle East on October 29, 2024, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This event, reported by Khaleej Times, aims to gather top financial professionals and business leaders to explore the evolving economic, technological, and environmental dynamics impacting the finance industry.

The CFO Conference Middle East has previously been held in the region in 2015, 2016, and 2023, and this year’s theme, “Inclusive Growth: Reconfiguring Business Strategies,” is expected to draw more than 500 finance professionals. The event will foster networking and provide a platform for participants to gain insights from international experts on topics crucial to the future of finance.

As global business strategies continue to shift, this conference will focus on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) compliance in enhancing competitiveness and sustainability. Key sessions will delve into AI’s applications in finance, particularly in data-driven decision-making and streamlining operations. Finance leaders will discuss how AI can be leveraged to foster real-time insights and efficiency, creating a strategic advantage for CFOs looking to adapt to a more technologically advanced business environment.

A strong emphasis will also be placed on ESG principles. With businesses increasingly expected to operate responsibly and transparently, discussions will center on how integrating ESG frameworks can bolster resilience and reputation in today’s competitive landscape. The conference will provide a dedicated space to discuss these standards, highlighting how finance professionals can drive sustainable growth while meeting stakeholder demands.

Featured speakers include prominent figures like Aarefa Saleh Al Falahi from the RAK Chamber of Commerce, SOCPA CEO Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Almeghames, and ICAP President Farrukh Rehman, among others. These leaders will share their insights on sustainable development practices and explore how finance professionals can capitalize on emerging regional opportunities. They will also discuss how financial strategies can align with the economic visions of the Middle East, where growth and transformation are at the forefront of governmental and business agendas.

Additionally, regional investment opportunities will be highlighted as a major topic of interest. These sessions are expected to underscore the importance of aligning finance and investment strategies with regional priorities, offering attendees a deeper understanding of where potential lies for growth in the Middle East’s dynamic economy.

The conference is also set against the backdrop of ICAP’s ongoing efforts to raise the standards of financial education and regulatory compliance in Pakistan. Earlier in October 2024, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) announced its evaluation of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Sustainability Disclosure Standards, a recommendation put forward by ICAP. The potential implementation of these standards aligns with ICAP’s commitment to promoting transparent and sustainable business practices.

In March 2023, ICAP organized a live guidance session to support students preparing for computer-based exams, addressing questions from recent mock exams. This initiative reflects ICAP’s dedication to building a robust foundation for upcoming finance professionals, ensuring that they are equipped with practical knowledge and skills.

The CFO Conference Middle East 2024 reflects ICAP’s commitment to advancing financial acumen across borders and fostering a future-ready financial industry. With discussions focused on cutting-edge topics and practical insights, the event aims to empower CFOs and business leaders to drive inclusive growth and resilience in an increasingly complex global economy.
