The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has recomposed the KSE-100 and KSE-100PR indices following its latest review covering the period from March to August 2026. The changes will take effect from October 1, 2026, with four companies being added to the benchmark index and four others removed under the exchange’s index rules.
Image Pakistan Limited, Thatta Cement Company Limited, Nishat Chunian Power Limited and Bank Makramah Limited will be included in the KSE-100 Index under the revised composition. Their inclusion will replace Hum Network Limited, Mehmood Textile Mills Limited, Pakistan Aluminium Beverage Cans Limited and Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited.
According to the exchange’s notification, the changes were made based on the applicable index selection rules. Three of the companies removed from the KSE-100 were affected by the market-capitalisation-based rule, while Hum Network Limited was removed under the sector-based rule.
Thatta Cement Company Limited will replace Mehmood Textile Mills Limited under the market-capitalisation-based rule. Nishat Chunian Power Limited will take the place of Pakistan Aluminium Beverage Cans Limited, also under the market-capitalisation-based rule. Bank Makramah Limited will replace Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited under the same criterion. Meanwhile, Image Pakistan Limited will enter the index in place of Hum Network Limited following the sector-based rule.
Despite the changes in individual constituents, the KSE-100 Index will continue to comprise 100 companies representing a broad range of sectors of Pakistan’s listed equity market. The revised benchmark will continue to include sectors such as commercial banking, cement, fertilizer, oil and gas, textiles, power generation and technology, among others.
The re-composition reflects the periodic review process through which PSX adjusts the composition of its major indices according to established rules. Such reviews determine which listed companies qualify for inclusion or remain part of the benchmark based on the relevant selection criteria applied during the review period. The revised KSE-100 composition will become effective from October 1, 2026. PSX has also provided the complete revised list of constituents in Annexure A accompanying its notification to the exchange.
The latest changes will therefore alter the individual companies represented in the benchmark while maintaining the KSE-100’s 100-company structure. The index remains a key representation of the performance of major listed companies across multiple sectors of Pakistan’s equity market.
