The Punjab government has embarked on a significant digital transformation of its pension system. A new Gazette notification has been issued to introduce “E-Pension Papers” and a fully digitized application process, replacing traditional paper-based methods.
This digital overhaul is part of broader amendments to the Punjab Civil Servants Act of 1974, aimed at modernizing and streamlining pension administration. The Secretary of the Finance Department Punjab has formalized these changes through the Gazette Notification.
In addition to the pension system, the Punjab government has directed all departments to adopt an online system for managing employee attendance and leave records. The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) will oversee the implementation of this digital solution, ensuring a smooth transition and providing technical support.
