SAFA Holds Regional Webinar on Sustainability Frameworks for PSEs

The South Asian Federation of Accountants, operating through its specialized Public Sector Advisory Committee, has officially organized a comprehensive regional webinar dedicated to strengthening sustainability measures and Environmental, Social, and Governance frameworks within Public Sector Enterprises. The virtual forum is designed to bring together key financial regulators, policy makers, and corporate governance pioneers from across South Asia to outline actionable templates for integrating modern sustainability disclosures into state owned operations. The high level session features a strategic introductory address by the President of the federation, Mr. Humayun Kabir, who highlights the growing necessity of transitioning public entities toward verifiable long term value creation.

The entire panel discussion and ensuing regulatory question and answer cycle are being orchestrated under the guidance of the Vice-President of the federation, CA. Prabin Kumar Jha, who serves as the official moderator for the interactive session. The digital assembly leverages the technical and legislative knowledge of prominent financial figures across the region, including Mr. Zia Ul Mustafa from the host advisory committee, alongside CA. Arpit Kabra, the current Vice-Chairman of the PGFMC, ICAI and an active member of the advisory unit. Additionally, the event benefits from the specialized analytical input of eminent domain experts Mr. Chathumin Gunarathne and CA. Arijit Chakraborty, who share data backed perspectives on performance optimization, sustainable resource allocation, and compliance auditing.

To facilitate broad cross border participation without logistical constraints, the organizing committee is running the conference on a centralized digital platform on May 21, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM PKT via a direct Zoom video communications access gateway. As regional governments face escalating climate vulnerabilities and evolving global reporting mandates, this institutional initiative serves as a crucial knowledge sharing bridge for public administrators. The strategic insights generated throughout the seminar are intended to help public sector management boards move beyond traditional profit and loss paradigms toward transparent reporting structures, ultimately helping them attract international green bond investments to the region.
