Soneri Bank Teams Up with Euronet Pakistan to Modernize Credit Cards and Payments

Soneri Bank Limited, one of Pakistan’s leading financial institutions, has entered into a strategic partnership with Euronet Pakistan, a division of global electronic transaction processing leader Euronet Worldwide (NASDAQ: EEFT). This collaboration represents a major step in Soneri Bank’s digital transformation journey, enabling comprehensive modernization of its credit card and acquiring business through a fully outsourced and managed services model.

Under the partnership, Euronet Pakistan will provide an end-to-end card and payments platform that supports credit card issuance and POS acquiring. The platform is equipped with future-ready capabilities, designed to expand Soneri Bank’s broader cards and digital payments ecosystem. Hosted on Euronet’s PCI DSS–compliant infrastructure at its advanced data center facilities in Pakistan, the solution promises high availability, guaranteed service levels, and robust data security aligned with international standards.

Key features of the collaboration include tokenization and Google Pay enablement, which will empower Soneri Bank to offer secure, contactless payment options for its customers. This move positions the bank to deliver seamless, omnichannel payment experiences across both digital and physical touchpoints, reinforcing its status as an innovator in Pakistan’s banking sector.

By leveraging Euronet’s managed services model, Soneri Bank gains operational agility, enhanced scalability, and the ability to roll out new products efficiently while reducing operational complexity. This allows the bank to focus on customer-centric innovation and growth, with Euronet managing the underlying technology infrastructure.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior executives from both organizations.
