Pakistan’s National Science & Technology Park (NSTP) at NUST and U Microfinance Bank (U Bank) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the country. This collaboration focuses on supporting NSTP’s flagship programs: the Hatch8 Incubation Programme and the Rising Stars Startup Competition.
The MoU was signed by Engr Javed Mahmood Bukhari, Rector NUST, and Mohamed Essa Al Taheri, President & CEO of UBank, during a recent ceremony.
U Bank’s President & CEO, Mr. Mohamed Essa Al Taheri, highlighted their commitment to innovation through financial technology initiatives. He commended NUST for its nation-building efforts, world-class education, and focus on nurturing diverse talents to drive positive social change.
Rector NUST reciprocated the appreciation, acknowledging U Bank’s professionalism and expressing confidence in the partnership’s ability to cultivate the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
The partnership extends beyond program support. Discussions between NSTP and U Bank also addressed strategies for improving well-being for students, parents, and staff. One key initiative explored the establishment of an endowment fund to support underprivileged students, solidifying both organizations’ dedication to social development and inclusive growth.
