ZTBL Partners with FOSPAH to Promote Workplace Harassment Awareness Across Pakistan

Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) took a significant step towards promoting workplace safety and employee well-being by hosting an awareness seminar on the Protection against Harassment of Women, in collaboration with the Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH). The event was held at ZTBL’s head office in Islamabad, bringing together employees from across the country in both physical and virtual attendance.

The seminar was graced by FOSPAH Ombudsperson Ms. Fauzia Viqar, who was warmly received by ZTBL President and CEO Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti. Participants included senior management, branch staff, and other employees joining via Zoom, reflecting the bank’s nationwide commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive work environment.

During her keynote address, Ms. Fauzia Viqar emphasized the critical importance of cultivating workplaces that are safe, respectful, and free from harassment. She underlined the role of organizations in ensuring dignity at work and highlighted practical measures employees and institutions can adopt to prevent harassment. Addressing the audience, President and CEO Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti reaffirmed ZTBL’s zero-tolerance stance toward workplace harassment and reiterated the bank’s pledge to uphold ethical and safe practices across all branches.

A central component of the seminar included detailed briefings on the Workplace Harassment Act, 2010. Mr. Waqar Ahmed, Assistant Registrar at FOSPAH, served as the principal speaker and elaborated on the legal framework, reporting mechanisms, and institutional responsibilities mandated by the Act. Ms. Momina Asif, Communications Officer at FOSPAH, supplemented the discussion by providing insights on practical applications, internal reporting protocols, and methods to ensure compliance across organizational structures.

The event also included a dedicated Q&A session, allowing employees to interact directly with the speakers, clarify doubts, and engage in discussions about real-world scenarios. This interactive approach helped participants gain a deeper understanding of both their rights and responsibilities under the law.

ZTBL’s commitment to fostering a safe and equitable workplace was reinforced throughout the seminar. The bank emphasized that awareness and education are key to creating a culture of respect and inclusivity. The event concluded on a collaborative note, with a formal exchange of souvenirs between ZTBL and FOSPAH, symbolizing a shared dedication to safeguarding employee rights and dignity.

By organizing this seminar, ZTBL demonstrates leadership in not only providing financial services but also in promoting ethical practices, employee protection, and workplace inclusivity. The bank’s ongoing efforts to educate its workforce reflect a proactive stance in aligning operational practices with national legal frameworks and global standards for workplace safety.
