NIBAF Hosts HVAC Operations Training for PSPC Leadership Induction Program Batch 3

NIBAF Pakistan conducted a specialized session on HVAC Operations as part of the PSPC Leadership Induction Program (PLIP) – Batch 3, continuing its efforts to strengthen technical and operational understanding among program participants. The session focused on building awareness around efficient system management, infrastructure operations, and the role of modern HVAC solutions in organizational performance and sustainability.

The session was held on January 29, 2026, at NIBAF Pakistan, Islamabad, and was facilitated by Mr. Zeeshan Siddiqui, Country Director at Carrier. It brought together participants of the PSPC Leadership Induction Program, which is designed to develop leadership capabilities through exposure to both managerial and operational disciplines relevant to large-scale institutions and facilities.

The HVAC Operations session emphasized the growing importance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in modern infrastructure. Participants were introduced to key concepts related to HVAC system design, operational efficiency, and performance optimization. The discussion highlighted how HVAC systems contribute not only to occupant comfort but also to energy consumption patterns, operational costs, and long-term asset management.

A central focus of the session was energy efficiency and its impact on organizational sustainability. Participants gained insights into how modern HVAC technologies and operational practices can help reduce energy usage while maintaining system reliability. The session explored practical approaches to improving efficiency through proper system selection, monitoring, and maintenance, enabling participants to better understand the financial and operational implications of infrastructure-related decisions.

The facilitator shared industry perspectives on best practices in HVAC operations, drawing on practical experience to illustrate common challenges faced in facility management. Topics such as preventive maintenance, system lifecycle management, and performance evaluation were discussed in the context of ensuring uninterrupted operations and minimizing downtime. Participants were guided on how informed operational decisions can contribute to cost control and service quality in large facilities.

The session also addressed the role of leadership in infrastructure and operations management. Participants were encouraged to view HVAC systems as strategic assets rather than purely technical components. By understanding operational requirements and performance indicators, leaders can engage more effectively with technical teams, vendors, and service providers, ensuring alignment between infrastructure capabilities and organizational objectives.

Interactive discussions allowed participants to relate HVAC operations to their own organizational environments. The exchange of perspectives helped reinforce the importance of cross-functional understanding, particularly for leaders responsible for overseeing complex facilities and support systems. The applied nature of the session supported the broader objectives of the PSPC Leadership Induction Program, which aims to prepare participants for decision-making roles that require both technical awareness and managerial judgment.

The HVAC Operations session formed part of the comprehensive learning structure of PLIP – Batch 3, which integrates technical, operational, and leadership-focused modules. By including infrastructure-related topics, the program recognizes the critical role that efficient facilities and systems play in organizational effectiveness, especially in sectors where operational continuity and energy management are essential.

NIBAF Pakistan continues to contribute to the development of Pakistan’s institutional and operational ecosystem through targeted training initiatives. Sessions such as HVAC Operations reflect the evolving needs of organizations that require leaders with a broad understanding of systems, efficiency, and sustainability. Through practical learning and industry engagement, the PSPC Leadership Induction Program aims to equip participants with the knowledge and perspective needed to manage modern operational challenges effectively.
