Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited (PSX) has completed the re-composition exercise of the JS Global Banking Sector Index (JSGBKTI) as of June 30, 2026, with no changes made to the existing companies included in the index. The review was carried out in accordance with the relevant index rules and methodology defined by the exchange.
Following the completion of the review process, all existing constituents of the JS Global Banking Sector Index will continue to remain part of the index. The unchanged composition reflects the continued eligibility of the listed banking institutions under the criteria established for the index.
The JS Global Banking Sector Index continues to represent eight major listed banks operating in Pakistan’s financial sector. Each constituent company has been assigned an equal weight of 12.50% in the index as of June 30, 2026, ensuring balanced representation among the selected banking institutions. The index constituents include United Bank Limited (UBL), Meezan Bank Limited (MEBL), Habib Bank Limited (HBL), MCB Bank Limited (MCB), National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), The Bank of Punjab (BOP), Bank AL Habib Limited (BAHL), and Bank Alfalah Limited (BAFL).
The JS Global Banking Sector Index is designed to track the performance of major banking companies listed on Pakistan Stock Exchange and provide investors with a benchmark for monitoring developments within the banking sector. Index reviews are conducted periodically to ensure that the composition remains aligned with established rules and continues to represent eligible companies based on the required criteria.
The continued inclusion of the same eight banking institutions highlights their ongoing representation within Pakistan’s listed banking industry. These banks collectively represent a significant portion of the country’s financial sector and remain among the key publicly traded entities followed by investors in the capital market.
