BankIslami has reported a profit before tax of PKR4.31 billion for the first half of 2026, while its deposit base crossed the PKR700 billion mark for the first time, reflecting continued growth in the bank’s customer base and banking operations. The Islamic bank said its deposits recorded year-on-year growth of 11.1 percent during the period, while other key financial indicators also showed expansion across its financing and deposit activities.
During the first half of 2026, BankIslami’s CASA ratio strengthened to more than 77 percent, indicating a larger share of the bank’s deposits came through current and savings accounts. The bank’s gross financing portfolio increased to PKR338.6 billion, while total income for the period reached PKR20.5 billion. BankIslami said the income figure reflected continued contributions from its diversified financing and investment portfolio as it expanded its activities across different segments of Islamic banking.
The bank’s deposit milestone comes as it continues to expand its operations across Pakistan. Crossing PKR700 billion in deposits marks another stage in the growth of BankIslami’s balance sheet and reflects the scale of funds being managed through its Islamic banking platform. The improvement in the CASA ratio also indicates continued emphasis on deposit mobilisation through current and savings accounts, while the gross financing figure demonstrates the bank’s ongoing participation in financing activities for its customers.
BankIslami has also received recognition for its digital banking capabilities. Earlier in 2026, the bank was named Pakistan’s Best Islamic Digital Bank at the Euromoney Islamic Finance Awards. The recognition marked the second consecutive year in which BankIslami received an award from the Euromoney Islamic Finance Awards, after previously being recognised as Best Islamic Bank in 2025. The bank has continued to invest in its digital capabilities as part of efforts to provide customers with easier and more convenient access to banking services.
Imran H Shaikh, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of BankIslami, said the bank’s mission is to make Islamic banking easier and more accessible for customers while working to make it a preferred banking choice. He said the financial performance reflected the continued trust and support of the bank’s partners and customers. Shaikh also reiterated BankIslami’s commitment to maintaining its growth momentum while pursuing its stated mission of “Saving Humanity from Riba.”
BankIslami currently operates a nationwide network of more than 550 branches and continues to expand its presence across several banking segments. Its operations cover retail banking, cash management, investment banking, trade services and home remittances, giving the bank exposure to a broad range of customers and financial activities. The expansion of these services remains linked to the bank’s wider efforts to strengthen its position within Pakistan’s Islamic banking market.
The first-half results show continued growth in BankIslami’s deposits, financing and income alongside its reported profit before tax of PKR4.31 billion. The deposit base exceeding PKR700 billion, a CASA ratio above 77 percent and gross financing of PKR338.6 billion underline the bank’s expanding financial operations. Its growing branch network and digital banking recognition further reflect the institution’s ongoing efforts to broaden access to Islamic financial services across Pakistan.
