Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has completed the periodic re-composition of the KSE-30 Index, resulting in the inclusion of four new companies and the removal of four existing constituents. The latest review covered the period from January 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026, and was conducted according to the index methodology defined by the exchange.
Following the completion of the review process, Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), Bank Alfalah Limited, K-Electric Limited, and Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited have been added to the KSE-30 Index. The companies will now become part of the benchmark index, which tracks the performance of some of the largest and most actively traded companies listed on Pakistan Stock Exchange. At the same time, Air Link Communication Limited, Ghandhara Automobiles Limited, Ghandhara Industries Limited, and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited have been removed from the index following the periodic evaluation. The changes were made as part of PSX’s regular index review process to ensure that the KSE-30 Index continues to represent eligible companies according to established selection criteria.
The inclusion of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited reflects the continued representation of the country’s telecommunications sector within the benchmark index. PTCL remains one of Pakistan’s major connectivity providers, offering fixed-line broadband, enterprise solutions, and digital communication services across the country.
Bank Alfalah Limited’s addition strengthens the representation of the banking sector in the KSE-30 Index. The bank is among Pakistan’s leading commercial banks and operates across consumer banking, corporate banking, digital financial services, and other financial segments. K-Electric Limited, one of Pakistan’s major power distribution companies, has also been included in the revised index composition. The company provides electricity generation, transmission, and distribution services, primarily serving customers in Karachi and surrounding areas.
Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited’s inclusion adds further representation from Pakistan’s agriculture and industrial sectors. The company is one of the country’s major fertiliser producers, supporting agricultural productivity through the manufacturing and supply of fertiliser products. The KSE-30 Index is designed to measure the performance of the top 30 companies listed on Pakistan Stock Exchange based on liquidity and market activity. PSX conducts periodic reviews to ensure the index remains aligned with market developments and reflects companies meeting the required criteria.
The latest changes highlight the dynamic nature of Pakistan’s capital markets, where companies can enter or exit major indices based on their performance, trading activity, and eligibility under PSX’s index methodology. The updated KSE-30 Index composition will remain effective following the completion of the June 2026 review period, with future adjustments subject to upcoming periodic evaluations by the exchange.
