Raqami Islamic Digital Bank held its 10th Shariah Board Meeting on September 14, 2026, at the bank’s head office in Karachi, bringing together its Shariah Board members and senior leadership to deliberate on matters related to Shariah compliance, products, processes and governance. The meeting formed part of Raqami’s continued efforts to strengthen the Shariah governance framework supporting its digital banking operations and the development of Islamic financial solutions.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Muhammad Imran Ashraf Usmani, Chairman of the Shariah Board at Raqami Islamic Digital Bank. The session was attended by distinguished Shariah Board members Mufti Hassan Kaleem, Mufti Muhammad Ashjah Khan (RSBM), Mufti Muhammad Muaz Ashraf and Mufti Azfer Iqbal. Their participation provided the Shariah Board with an opportunity to review key areas associated with the bank’s Islamic digital banking activities and consider guidance relevant to the institution’s ongoing operations.
Raqami’s senior leadership also participated in the meeting, including Umair Aijaz, Chief Executive Officer, Syed Abid Raza Rizvi, Chief Business Officer, and Nasir Razak, Head of SCD. The involvement of the bank’s leadership alongside its Shariah Board reflects the role of Shariah oversight in the development and review of products, processes and customer-focused solutions within Raqami’s digital banking model.
The meeting provided a platform for detailed deliberations on a range of Shariah matters, products, processes and governance-related areas.
