Bank AL Habib Launches AL Habib Digital With New Mobile Banking Experience

4 Views by PakBanker Desk

Bank AL Habib has launched AL Habib Digital, a fully native mobile banking application developed as a ground-up rebuild of its existing mobile banking experience. The launch represents one of the bank’s major digital upgrades and comes as customers across Pakistan increasingly rely on mobile applications for everyday financial transactions. With mobile banking becoming a central part of how customers access financial services, the new application is designed to provide faster performance, smoother navigation and a wider range of banking functions through a single platform.

The launch comes against the backdrop of rapid growth in mobile-based banking and digital payments in Pakistan. During the January to March 2026 quarter, mobile application-based payments accounted for 78% of all digital payments in the country, with 2.9 billion transactions processed through banking applications during the period. With Bank AL Habib operating 1,354 branches across 550 cities, the growing use of mobile banking has increased the importance of providing customers with a digital experience that can complement its extensive physical branch network.

AL Habib Digital has been rebuilt as a fully native application rather than being introduced as a conventional update to an existing mobile banking platform. The new architecture is aimed at delivering improved performance and smoother navigation, allowing customers to access banking services through a more streamlined interface. The redesigned application focuses on making frequently used services easier to reach while giving customers greater flexibility in how they interact with their banking dashboard.

One of the key features of the new application is a customizable dashboard that allows customers to organize the services they use most frequently. Interactive widgets also provide direct access to important functions without requiring users to move through multiple menus. The application includes biometric login and FPIN authentication for transactions, providing additional security measures while allowing customers to access and use banking services without making the process unnecessarily complicated. Customers can also switch between Dark Mode and Light Mode according to their preference.

The new application brings a range of everyday banking services into one mobile platform. Customers can make instant fund transfers without first registering a payee, while bill payments, mobile recharges and QR payments are also available through the application. These features are designed to reduce the number of steps involved in routine transactions and give customers greater control over their daily banking activities without requiring them to visit a branch for commonly used services.

AL Habib Digital also expands mobile access to debit card management. Customers can activate their debit cards, block or unblock cards, change their personal identification number and manage transaction limits directly through the application. By bringing these functions into the mobile banking environment, the application can reduce the need for customers to contact a helpline or visit a Bank AL Habib branch for routine card-related requests.

The timing of the launch reflects the continued expansion of digital banking in Pakistan. Mobile banking users in the country have reached 137 million, while retail digital transactions have nearly doubled over the past year. This shift indicates that customers are increasingly using digital channels for payments, transfers and other financial activities. As mobile banking adoption grows, banks are responding by investing in applications that can handle a broader range of services while offering customers faster and more convenient access.

For Bank AL Habib, the launch of AL Habib Digital represents an effort to align its mobile banking services with these changing customer habits. The application combines everyday payments, fund transfers, card management and authentication features within a redesigned platform. By rebuilding the application from the ground up, the bank is positioning its digital channel as an important part of its wider banking services alongside its extensive physical branch network.

The launch also highlights the broader transformation taking place across Pakistan’s banking industry, where mobile applications are becoming increasingly important to customer engagement and service delivery. As digital transaction volumes continue to increase, banks are placing greater emphasis on application performance, security, personalization and convenience. AL Habib Digital adds another major mobile banking platform to this evolving landscape, with Bank AL Habib seeking to provide customers with a digital experience designed around the way they increasingly manage their financial activities.
