President Zardari and PM Shehbaz Sharif Extend Eid Greetings to the Nation, Call for Unity and Compassion

On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended their heartfelt greetings to the people of Pakistan, emphasizing the values of unity, compassion, and social responsibility that define this important festival.

In a message shared from the President House, President Zardari wished the entire nation and the Muslim world well, recognizing Eid as a joyous occasion that follows a month of fasting, worship, and reflection during Ramadan. He highlighted the significance of this day as a gift from Allah Almighty, granted as a reward for the sacrifices made during the holy month. Zardari encouraged the nation to uphold the true spirit of Eid by actively fulfilling their obligations of Zakat, charity, and Fitrana, ensuring that no one in need is deprived of the happiness that comes with Eid. His message underscored the importance of brotherhood, calling for stronger unity among Pakistanis to build a prosperous and stable nation.

The president also expressed his solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine, praying for their freedom and the ability to celebrate Eid in peace. He prayed to Allah Almighty to accept the fasting and worship of the people, and for divine guidance to lead Pakistan towards peace and prosperity. Zardari’s message was a reminder of the significance of compassion and support for oppressed communities, aligning the national spirit of Eid with global calls for justice and human rights.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his own message from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), extended similar greetings to the nation, reinforcing the central themes of happiness, gratitude, and empathy that define Eid. “Eid teaches us happiness, thankfulness, brotherhood, and empathy,” said the Prime Minister, adding that these values should be reflected not only during the holiday but throughout the year.

Shehbaz Sharif also addressed the nation’s current challenges, acknowledging the external and internal threats Pakistan faces. He stressed the importance of staying united to safeguard the country’s integrity and stability. “We need to be united for the integrity and stability of the country,” he said, urging citizens to be vigilant and resist the forces of extremism, hatred, and sectarianism that threaten to divide the nation.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the government is making every effort to revive the country’s economy, stabilize society, and maintain law and order. He urged the public to contribute to the country’s development by working together towards progress and prosperity. “It is our collective responsibility to strengthen the economy, society, and national solidarity,” Shehbaz Sharif emphasized.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s armed forces in the ongoing fight against terrorism, paying tribute to the martyrs of the Jafar Express incident and offering condolences to their families. He further expressed solidarity with the people of IIOJK and Palestine, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for their freedom struggles.

In his message, Shehbaz Sharif appealed to the international community to play an active role in ending human rights violations and resolving the legitimate concerns of oppressed people. He also urged the Pakistani people to share the joys of Eid with the underprivileged, neighbors, and relatives, encouraging them to contribute to the creation of a welfare society that looks after the vulnerable.

Both leaders’ messages were a call for unity, compassion, and collective effort in building a brighter and more prosperous future for Pakistan, while also extending solidarity to those facing injustice worldwide. As Pakistan celebrates Eid-ul-Fitr, these messages from President Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif provide a poignant reminder of the values that bind the nation together and its commitment to peace, prosperity, and justice.
