Soneri Bank Limited has announced the appointment of Osama Kizilbash as Unit Head – Cards Product, reinforcing the bank’s strategic focus on expanding and modernising its cards and digital payments portfolio. The move comes at a time when financial institutions in Pakistan are increasingly prioritising customer-centric digital solutions to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving payments ecosystem.
Osama Kizilbash brings extensive experience in digital strategy and cards product management, with a professional background that spans WhatsApp Banking, CPaaS-enabled communication platforms, and digital payments solutions. His career reflects hands-on involvement in managing complete product lifecycles, from ideation and design to deployment and performance optimisation, across major financial institutions in the country.
Before joining Soneri Bank, Kizilbash held senior roles at Faysal Bank Limited, Bank AL Habib Limited, and UBL – United Bank Limited. During his tenure at these institutions, he led initiatives focused on card portfolio expansion, enhancement of digital channels, and the development of products aligned with regulatory and operational frameworks. His work involved close coordination with technology, compliance, risk, and business teams to ensure product launches met both market and governance requirements.
A core element of his experience lies in developing competitive card propositions designed for varied customer segments. He has overseen the creation of card variants that balance customer value, pricing strategy, and operational efficiency. His approach relies heavily on analytics and customer insights to guide product decisions and improve adoption and usage metrics.
Kizilbash has also contributed to improving customer journeys by refining onboarding processes, transaction flows, and service interactions across digital touchpoints. As customer expectations shift toward convenience, speed, and reliability, such enhancements have become central to sustaining engagement and loyalty in card-based products.
In addition to product development, he has demonstrated the ability to lead cross-functional teams in fast-paced banking environments. His exposure to regulatory compliance and risk governance has enabled him to navigate the complexities of Pakistan’s regulated banking sector while supporting innovation within defined controls.
At Soneri Bank, his role is expected to focus on strengthening the bank’s cards and payments offerings in line with broader digital transformation objectives. With increasing adoption of digital payments and evolving consumer behaviour, the bank aims to position its card products as secure, scalable, and aligned with future market needs.
The appointment of Osama Kizilbash signals Soneri Bank’s intent to invest in leadership that combines strategic insight with execution capability, supporting the development of next-generation cards and payments solutions within Pakistan’s modern banking ecosystem.
