Dubai has expanded its economic outreach into Pakistan with the launch of a new representative office of the Dubai International Chamber in Karachi, a step aimed at strengthening long-term trade and investment channels between the two markets. The decision is part of the broader Dubai Global initiative, an international expansion programme designed to enhance the emirate’s economic presence across key global regions.
Officials in Dubai confirmed that the Karachi office will act as a direct bridge for businesses seeking to enter or scale within Dubai’s diversified economy. By establishing an on-ground presence in Pakistan’s largest commercial hub, the government expects to simplify market access, offer tailored support to companies, and encourage higher volumes of cross-border commercial activity.
Dubai’s economic links with Pakistan have grown steadily in recent years, driven largely by trade beyond hydrocarbons. According to official data, non-oil trade between Dubai and Pakistan reached 22.8 billion dirhams from January 2022 to September 2025. This consistent rise highlights Pakistan’s position as a meaningful trade partner for the emirate and signals the potential for further acceleration as new support mechanisms come into place.
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce also reported substantial growth in the number of Pakistani businesses registered with the organisation. Between early 2022 and September 2025, the figure increased by 161 percent, reaching a total of 33,110 active companies. The increase reflects both the attractiveness of Dubai as a commercial base and the growing interest of Pakistani entrepreneurs in regional expansion.
By opening a dedicated office in Karachi, Dubai aims to offer these companies a more streamlined pathway for establishing operations in the emirate. The representative office will assist with market intelligence, regulatory guidance, networking, and investment facilitation. It is also expected to work closely with public and private sector bodies in both markets to remove barriers and promote joint ventures.
Officials familiar with the initiative said the launch underscores Dubai’s intention to deepen economic collaboration with countries across South Asia, particularly those with growing entrepreneurial sectors and expanding consumer markets. Pakistan, with its sizeable business community and strategic location, remains a priority within this framework.
The new office is positioned as a catalyst for increased bilateral investment flows, supporting companies from both sides in identifying opportunities and building long-term commercial partnerships. Dubai authorities noted that the step aligns with the emirate’s ongoing strategy to reinforce its role as a global hub for trade, logistics, finance, and innovation.
With this expansion, Dubai aims not only to strengthen its connection with Pakistan’s business ecosystem but also to support broader economic integration efforts across the region. The Karachi office marks another milestone in the evolving economic relationship between the two markets and is expected to play a central role in shaping future cross-border growth.
