Meezan Bank and Mastercard Strengthen Partnership with Enhanced Debit Card Offerings in Pakistan

Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s leading Islamic bank, has renewed its strategic partnership with Mastercard through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement, formalized by Syed Amir Ali, Deputy CEO of Meezan Bank, and J.K. Khalil, Regional President of Mastercard, aims to enhance the bank’s debit card portfolio and enrich the banking experience for customers across Pakistan.

The renewed partnership will see Meezan Bank expand its range of premium debit cards, offering a variety of exclusive benefits tailored to the needs of its affluent clientele. These enhancements include improved convenience, bespoke travel and lifestyle perks, and a more advanced digital banking experience.

This collaboration builds on a longstanding relationship between Meezan Bank and Mastercard, which recently culminated in Meezan Bank hosting a Mastercard-led cybersecurity workshop, marking the launch of Mastercard’s new cybersecurity service in Pakistan.

Irfan Siddiqui, President & CEO of Meezan Bank, highlighted the partnership’s goal to transform Pakistan’s payment landscape by delivering secure, convenient, and Shariah-compliant debit card products. Arslan Khan, Country Manager at Mastercard, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded alliance, emphasizing the commitment to providing innovative financial solutions and ensuring secure transactions.

The partnership signifies a significant step in enhancing Pakistan’s payment infrastructure, combining the strengths of both organizations to meet the evolving needs of Islamic banking consumers while maintaining high security and convenience standards.
