NIBAF Pakistan advanced its focus on digital capability building by conducting a dedicated session on Data Analytics with Excel and Power BI under the PSPC Leadership Induction Program Batch-3. Held on March 2, 2026, at NIBAF Pakistan in Islamabad, the session was designed to enhance participants’ analytical proficiency and support data-driven decision-making within institutional environments.
The training formed part of the broader Leadership Induction Program framework, which seeks to prepare professionals for increasingly data-intensive roles across organisational structures. As institutions place greater emphasis on performance measurement, reporting accuracy and strategic planning, the ability to interpret and visualise data has become a core leadership competency. The session responded to this need by equipping participants with practical tools that translate complex datasets into actionable insights.
Facilitated by Mr. Irfan Bakaly, the session combined conceptual understanding with applied exercises. Participants were introduced to structured approaches for organising, analysing and presenting data using Excel’s advanced functionalities alongside Power BI’s interactive dashboard capabilities. The facilitator guided attendees through real-time demonstrations that highlighted how structured analytics can inform operational decisions and performance tracking.
Excel modules focused on strengthening foundational analytical techniques, including formula structuring, pivot tables, data validation and conditional formatting. These tools remain central to organisational data workflows, particularly in finance, operations and administrative functions. By reinforcing spreadsheet-based modelling skills, the session aimed to enhance participants’ confidence in handling raw data sets and extracting meaningful trends.
Power BI components extended the analytical framework by introducing dynamic data visualisation and reporting. Participants explored how dashboards can consolidate information from multiple sources, enabling decision-makers to monitor key indicators in real time. Emphasis was placed on clarity, structure and storytelling through data, ensuring that insights are communicated effectively to senior management and cross-functional teams.
The session underscored the importance of practical application. Rather than limiting the discussion to theoretical explanations, participants engaged in hands-on exercises that mirrored workplace scenarios. This experiential approach enabled immediate application of concepts, strengthening retention and reinforcing analytical discipline.
With organisations across Pakistan increasingly adopting digital performance systems, leadership programs are adapting to embed analytics literacy into professional development tracks. Data-driven decision-making is no longer confined to technical departments; it is becoming integral to governance, compliance and strategic execution. The PSPC Leadership Induction Program reflects this shift by integrating analytics modules into its curriculum.
Held at NIBAF Pakistan’s Islamabad facility, the workshop highlighted the institution’s continued commitment to advancing digital competencies within professional circles. By focusing on Excel and Power BI, the session provided participants with tools that are widely recognised across industries, enhancing both institutional value and individual career progression.
As organisations continue to navigate evolving regulatory frameworks and competitive markets, analytical clarity remains central to sustainable growth. The Data Analytics session under PLIP Batch-3 therefore represents a structured investment in building leadership capacity aligned with modern performance demands, reinforcing the role of data as a strategic asset in contemporary organisational management.
