NIBAF Pakistan conducted a specialized technical session for officers and management teams of Bank of China at its Karachi Branch, focusing on anti-corruption requirements applicable to financial institutions and the regulatory expectations surrounding institutional compliance.
The session, titled “Anti-corruption Related to Financial Institutions – Regulatory Expectations,” was held on September 11, 2026, at Bank of China’s Karachi Branch. The programme was designed for officers and management personnel of the bank, providing participants with an opportunity to strengthen their understanding of regulatory expectations and compliance responsibilities within the financial sector.
Mr. Naveed Elahi served as the facilitator for the session and guided participants through the subject of anti-corruption in the context of financial institutions. The technical session focused on issues relevant to maintaining effective compliance practices and promoting greater awareness of regulatory responsibilities among banking professionals.
NIBAF Pakistan said the programme forms part of its continued engagement with financial institutions to support stronger compliance, risk awareness and institutional governance. Such technical sessions provide banking officers and management teams with practical exposure to regulatory matters that can influence internal controls, decision-making processes and broader governance frameworks.
The participation of Bank of China’s Karachi Branch reflects the role of specialized regulatory and professional training in supporting compliance standards across Pakistan’s banking sector. Financial institutions operate within a detailed regulatory environment, making continued awareness and training important for officers responsible for managing operational, compliance and governance-related responsibilities.
NIBAF Pakistan continues to work with national and international financial institutions through specialized learning and capacity-building initiatives. Its engagement with institutions such as Bank of China is aimed at strengthening professional understanding of regulatory expectations and encouraging greater attention to risk management and institutional governance.
The September 11 session also highlights the growing importance of structured compliance education for financial institutions as banks continue to manage regulatory requirements, operational risks and governance responsibilities. By providing focused technical sessions, NIBAF Pakistan seeks to contribute to a banking environment where officers and management teams have stronger awareness of compliance standards and the responsibilities associated with their roles.
